Yes, I agree. Stitch is amusing, but Alien Encounter was SOOOO MUCH BETTER!

No it wasn't. I wonder why they had to Stitch-ize it?

Its not like there aren't other attactions that could have been upgraded in MK...

Complaints complaints complaints... the attraction really didn't belong in the MK, and too many parents were taking their small children in, the kids freak out, the parents freak out at City Hall, and the attraction became a PR liability.

So bye-bye XSTech, Chairman Klench, S.I.R., Spindlock, et al...

Hmm i guess it didn't fit. But that is no reason to replace it with an attraction that is not as good as the original. They could have improved it, and if not replace it with a new attraction.

And who said good scare isn't good for kids!

I'm pretty tired of Stitch and the attraction is terrible. I doubt we'll ever re-visit it.

It's sad really. To me they wanted to put Stitch in a ride so badly this is the best they could come up with.

We saw children -- and adults -- leaving in tears, and then read complaints that then junior wouldn't go on anything else, and there goes the vacation.

With our kids, we never even attempted it.

Sad to hear the Stitch ride is a bummer, regardless. Lots of PR about the animatronics, but I guess(?) the story just wasn't there...???
No, no... He's got a point.

I second this motion. Stitch was actually the first ride we went on in the Magic Kingdom when we went (we as in the group of UK people that currently work at WDW for another 4 weeks). It was a bit of a pointless attraction, to be honest. OK, it was kind of fun for some of the kids (ie, the ones that weren't making a noise because they didn't like it), but overall we weren't really impressed with the attraction and I don't think any of us have been through it since.. I tend to walk straight past Stitch to get to something more exciting, like Space Mountain ;)

Andy.

Well, Alien Encounter was a LOT more exciting. I remember back in the 90's, I was one of the lucky ones to get to do a "soft" opening. The attraction was so awesome it just blew my mind! I even screamed when the lights went out and the inner core "burst". It was pretty cool when you didn't expect it. The attraction provided a "Rush" of adrenaline without moving anywhere.

I see it this way (ok... now my geekness truely shows itself)
Alien encounter is like Star Wars Episodes 4& 5. Classic, cool, and ahead of its time.

Where as Stitch is like Star Wars Episode 1. COMPLETELY DUMBED DOWN AND A TOTAL DISSAPPOINTMENT. (I almost WALKED OUT of the theatres during that movie!)

Stitch isn't even worthy of Episode I comparison.
