That only once every 24 hours rule

Post by lethington » Oct Wed 11, 2006 7:12 pm

I would sure like to be able to listen to some of the more popular songs, but by the time I get in, in the morning West coast time they are almost always already played by someone. So basically I never get to hear the most popular songs which are really good. How about 2 hours or something like that. I doubt someone will be able to overplay certain songs every 2 hours if that is what you are afraid of. Besides that's why you have the Regen point system to prevent that kind of thing right. Song hogs.

Thanks for your consideration on this.

P.S. I love this site, and thank you so much for doing this. It so keeps me sane between park visits. HA!

this has been debated upon for a long time. I doubt Sub with change the rate any more than it has been. Also, the time in which a track is un-requestable isn't 24 hours, only the points come back in 24 hours. the tracks are "around 3 days" if I remember correctly. could be 4 days. I've lost track at this point.

Whoah... 3 days? That's kinda alot, considering that your chances of the songs actually being randomly played is slim to none.

you know, there is a second, scheduled stream that will randomly play tacks all day long, with absolutely no requests. the chances of the track you want is much greater than slim to none when listening to that stream. and you never know, you may find a new favorite.

also, this is a FREE internet radio station. for Sub to even incorporate a system so you can request is an HONOR that has been granted to you. it can be taken away in an instant, if Subsonic suddenly has the inspiration to remove it. feel happy you can request anything at all, and don't worry on how often you can request it. even with a true radio station (AM/FM or satellite), you may have the option of calling in to request a song, but the chances of them actually playing it there is slim to none.

Please see Kronk's reference.

The 3 day rule is in place because there were too many repeats
