Today is an exciting day at Walt Disney World® Resort. We launched our newest celebration called "The Year of a Million Dreams." For the next 15 months, Disney Cast Members will surprise our Guests like never before by granting over a million "dreams." In this edition we share details of this unique global event. We also feature the many ways our Cast and company have recently demonstrated a commitment to leadership. From spearheading a global travel industry initiative to being ranked as the number one company to launch a career, we hope this edition of MouseMail serves as a reminder that leadership always plays a defining role in who we are and what we do at Disney.
Mission Accomplished: Guests Give Play-test Positive Response
A play-test of an entirely new theme park experience is getting high marks from Disney guests who were among the first to participate in a prototype of an interactive, adventure game called Disney's Kim Possible® World Showcase Adventure. Designed by Walt Disney Imagineers, the experience takes guests on an exciting quest in Epcot®. Each guest receives messages or clues through a customized, hand-held game controller with sophisticated software designed by Disney's Research and Development unit. Called a Kimmunicator, the device allows guests to control secret spy equipment and special effects built within Epcot's World Showcase. "Today's emerging generation expects more immersive, personal and interactive experiences in every facet of their lives, including their entertainment choices," said Bruce Vaughn, vice president of Disney's research and developme
Epcot Celebrates Eleven Years of Food & Wine
Every fall, gourmands wait patiently for the Epcot International Food and Wine Festival which features the hottest trends in food, wine, tea and beer from around the world. This year, the Festival has grown dramatically, and is expected to attract more than one million wine connoisseurs and epicureans. More than 100 wineries will feature their best selections while 25 international marketplaces will serve tapas-sized portions of regional specialties. "No other festival of this scope and caliber exists in the world," said Nora Carey, festival manager. "This is where we showcase the exceptional culinary and wine-related talent of Walt Disney World Resort along with the great celebrity chefs and wine connoisseurs in the industry." September 29 kicked the beginning of a six-week food and wine

What the heck is this? And how can CM's grant dreams when their own dreams aren't being met with better pay?jd3921fl wrote:For the next 15 months, Disney Cast Members will surprise our Guests like never before by granting over a million "dreams."

You have to remember a lot of states are right to work states California isn't one and our Minimum wage is $7.75 per hr and is planning on going up. At the rate the minimum wage is going up it looks like my Pay $14.00 per hr isn't to far off of becoming the minimum wage.
Doing the whole dream thing is a cool idea as long as people don;t get upset if the person in front of them get something and they don't

Unfortunatly it will be the families that don't even like Disney that will probably win most of them. I just hope that Good fans get the prizes.

You don't have to be at the parks to win. You can also get your dream by sending in postcards. This link is the official rules.

HMMMMM... I'm trying to see if Disney has known assigned Cast Members as members of the show or Wish-granters. It seems like they're running a somewhat community service gig.

Do you think have enough time to go the bathroom before the next show?

Actually its the 17 months of 1.25 million dreams. lol
And for those of you entering by mail, be sure to include DOB and daytime phone number on the post card as well. There are specific instructions to winning the contest.
While I'm at it, Dr. Ravenscroft, beware entering under other people's names, as you will need proof of identity to claim the prizes (and I believe a notarized statement that says you're not affiliated with Disney).

That being the case I still have two addresses and ofcourse there are the parents. I can enter them all, unless they want to enter themselves. As for affiliation's I have none, wish I did, but I don't.Shinku wrote:While I'm at it, Dr. Ravenscroft, beware entering under other people's names, as you will need proof of identity to claim the prizes (and I believe a notarized statement that says you're not affiliated with Disney).
