Firefly / Serenity or tell us the last good show you watched

Post by Croaker » Sep Sun 24, 2006 2:03 am

Anyone a fan of the series "Firefly"? i didn't get to see the original run in 2002, but after watching "Serenity"(2005 release) i was watching the extra's and found it was a series. what all this time i was missing out on one of the best (if not the best) sci-fi series ever made. I advise anyone that hasn't seen Serenity to rent/buy it...its worth it..the humor, the action! its awesome. the way they think is exactly the way most people i know would think. example. an enemy says "i'm unarmed" and the hero draws and shoots him while saying "good". If you like the movie...you'll love the series, my wife thought "Serenity" was ok...I bought the series (Target $39.99) and after watching the first episode she was hooked!

I'm into Battlestar Galactica right now. Trying to catch up on the DVDs before the next season starts.

I enjoy watching the TV series Lost. Just when you think you know what is going on they throw another twist into the plot.

I've been pleased with two new series that debuted this fall, both on NBC Monday nights... Heroes and Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip... both are awesome, especially Studio 60

I am a huge 24 fan, the world comes to a stop for me when it is on!

I have recently gotten into Grays Anatomy. Lost actually lost me last season so hopefully it will be better this year. I loved Invasion that came on after Lost, I can't believe they cancelled it!! Left us hanging with people being forced into the water....COME ON, I need a real ending!!!

Other than that I am not really hooked on anything. I might check out Serenity, but I have never heard of Firefly

The American version took several episodes in the first season to ramp up to speed, but it's easily the best comedy on TV at the moment. Steve Carell has a lot of talent.

I highly recommend Scrubs, when it returns in 2007. That is one of my all time favorite shows. My brother has always been skeptical about watching it and he took a look at a couple of episodes and ended up watching all 5 seasons twice this summer!

I'm into House, Lost, Numbers, 24, and Stargate SG-1. I also watch Ghost Hunters.

I don't like stargate sg-1 cause they forced Farscape off the air. and before anyone says it, I already know Ben Browder moved from Farscape to Stargate. doesn;t make it any better.

I am one of the most rabid firefly fans I know. I had sen the series in passing and watched part of one episode but lost track of it, especially when fox pulled the plug early, grumble grumble. I think that the characters and the plot and even the overall ambiance make this sci fi series one of the very very best, lacking the sterile neerdy feel of many hardcore sci fi flicks without loosing the futuristic and very radical feel to the whole film.

I didn't see the original run of Firefly, not until DVD, but I did see Serenity months before it's theatrical release at the '05 Comicon in San Diego. Joss Whedon is a genius. If anyone likes Firefly/Serenity, you must give Buffy the Vampire Slayer(TV, not movie) a try, along with the spin-off series Angel. They are hilarious and have the best characters I've seen in any TV series, in fact Buffy got me back into TV in general, previously I was a 100% DVD guy, didn't even have cable.

oh yeah, season 1&2 of LOST(after that the show sucks), Smallville has it's ups and downs, Supernatural is getting better, and what's that other little show? ...

HEROES is where it's at this year!
