I wonder if this Nemo theming means they'll get rid of anything that can't be tied in to the movie. We really like going to see the manatees; I hope they'll still be there.

Would be neat to get them back. And will we ever be able to actually go in the main entrance or is that yet another long term "project" like the SeaCabs?
well i saw a seacab on ebay , i quess there is no hope for the seacabs to come back
A bit late for this, but better late than never...

Disney sells various pieces of the attractions on ebay all the time. Most of the pieces are from closed attractions, but many are from current ones. for the current ones, these pieces are things that were removed/replaced. Most wouldn;t work again if installed, hence the removal. what better way to fund a refurb than to sell off various unusable pieces?

According to the fall issue of "Vacation Magic", starting in October 2006, "The Living Seas" will be called "The Seas with Nemo & Friends". Gues will travel across a beach and under the sea, where they'll board a colorful "clam-obile".

I looked for the manatees in July and couldn't find them.

if I remember, the manatees were on the second floor, in a tank oposite where the sea cabs used to be. when I was there in '02, they had 2 or 3 there, one was seriously hurt by a boat, but they expected it to make a full recovery. I'll check in december when I go

The manatee enclosure is a 2 section enclosure with a on-stage portion and a backstage portion. The manatees are given the opportunity to move back and forth between the portions as they desire. So sometimes if you go in, you may not see them because they are swimming or resting out of the public eye.

My wife and I have season passes and have been invited to preview ride the attraction before it opens to the public. It's in early October and I'm debating on going or not.

Me too! I like quoting that spiel in my most dramatic voice during rainstorms: "... the deluge!!!" It always gets me strange looks.

I will also be there in early October and will try to provide a write-up (assuming my relatives bring a computer). This time around, my wife and I are bringing the dive gear for some diving off of Ft. Lauderdale to start the trip, so no computer.
