DisneyLand Hotels ???
If you could stay in any of the DisneyLand hotels, which would be your first choice, and why.
We would love to get to DL next year, never been before, and I am not sure where to stay.

At DL, it would be the Grand Californian Hotel, without a doubt. It is the closest to the parks, and the most convienient if you want to relax or take a little nap in the afternoon. I find that it is also the nicest of the three resort hotels, but it is also the most expensive. I have been to DL for a total of about 6 trips and a total of 24 nights in the past three years, and 19 of those nights I have chosen to stay in the GCH.

Stayed at all three - DL has great artwork and theming plus the monorail station is very well located. Advantage too of having a daybed, so easier to fit more in the room. And the pool is really nice if you are looking for that.
PP is nice but haven't been there since the last renovation, the rooms were slightly smaller than DL. Plus side, great access to DCA thru the "secret entrance"
GCH is wonderful, great styling, etc. - only downside, few rooms with daybeds so you get sleeping bags instead. Haven't been to GCH since the grand opening [went just weeks before DCA opened to give you a time frame] so maybe the sleeping bag thing has improved...

It's been about a year now since the special entrance to DCA from the PP hotel has been closed. The quickest way to get into DCA from the PP is to use the entrance from the GCH.G2-4T wrote:PP is nice but haven't been there since the last renovation, the rooms were slightly smaller than DL. Me and my family always stay at the Disneyland Hotel because we would stay at the garden villas. but then they got torn down
We were going to stay at GCH but it was booked solid....so we went for the DL hotel again. It is really nice hotel and the theming is great. The Neverland pool is also really cool

Disneyland is the best!
Hope it's not too late for you, but I've stayed at Paradise Pier 3 times (2ce when it was previously Pan Pacific) and loved it for the following reasons:
1. Nice walk to the parks coz you can cut thru the other hotels (GH, DH). You always run into a couple of employees on the walk to and fro which gives a sense of security.
2. They broadcast the fireworks music and you can view the fireworks from the 3rd floor pool.
3. No microwaves in the room but you are allowed to use the microwave on the 1st floor lounge/bar area.
4. Spacious rooms that contain 2 queens plus an extra couch that I think pulls out into a bed. Regardless, you could easily fit 5 adults in 1 room.
5. Nice big hotel store
Only thing lacking is no dedicated area where you could pick up snacks or a couple of sandwiches - but then you could always hop on over to DD or the other hotels for that!

Howdy All!
I finally had enough points on my American Airlines AAdvantage Miles to get my ticket to Cali in June for my neices graduation!!
I booked my ticket yesterday, since I know they only allocate a few seats per flight on the award tickets.
Now I am going to go online and book my Disneyland stay. I have always stayed at the Candy Cane across the street and saved the extra money to spend on neat stuff. I have been to DL so many times in my life time that I have had the DL experience from staying at the DLHotel in it's hayday when it was the only resort hotel there.
Now though I am torn between saving the money and the convenience of staying at one of the "on site" hotels. I hate making decisions ... ha ha ha
My boss was giving me a hard time (in a kidding way) saying "you'll be out next month and most of the following month for back surgery, then you are gonna take vacation in June? You must have a great boss!" LOL, and I said "yah, I guess he is ok" ha ha ha
Best get to looking at where I wanna stay...............
