I'm a bit torn on the Transformers trailer. Why the heck are they on Mars? That doesn't fit in anything I've read or watched that i can remeber in the Transformer universe. I'm hoping it turns out really good, but I don't know. I've heard Bumblebee is going to be a new camero, how wierd is that.

I too saw the ninja turtle trailer, and it got me all nostalgic, which is what i bet they're going for. I'm definatly going to see it. Now whether i have to go by myself or my dork friends, or if I can get my wife to go with me, that's another story

Maybe that's the first contact we had with them. Don't remember too much of the Transformers universe other than they had planets and wars.

If my friends see Ninja Turtles, I might go with them. Matinee of course.

who ever said that they have to stay 100% faithful to the original cartoons, though? I don;t remember the transformers being on Mars, but that doesn;t mean that they never were. Remember that they came from another planet are are probably planet-hopping from one to another as they come to Earth.

There have been several re-tellings of the Transformer story already. I see no problem altering it to make it a good movie. Comic books and cartoons rarely translate perfectly to cinema. Changes are usually good for the story/entertainment value. The trailer looks sweet. Looks like the story is from the human perspective, not necessarily following the Autobots as protagonists.

The main story stayed pretty much the same through out the Transformer Universe - at least as it pertains the the battles between the Autobots and Decepticons. In an effort to save Cybertron the Autobots left Cybertron to try to clear an asteroid belt from smashing into the planet. They were attacked by the Decepticons and both ships were damaged and crash landed on earth around 4 million years ago. In 1984 a volcanic eruption in the mountain the the Arc (the autobots ship) was in woke Teletron-1. Teletron-1 scanned the area and used thing it found (cars, planes, etc...) to rebuild the damaged transformers) However Teletron-1 was damaged itself and so it rebuilt both the Autobots and Decepticons in the ship. Once they woke they started their war back up. Beast Wars, and the following Beast Machines follow this main story but the Maximal and Predicons are the decendants of Autobots and Decepticons. They land up traveling back in time and land on earth before the Autobots and Decpticons are awoken in 1984. Megatron then tries to change the future by destroying Optimus Prime before he is awoken by the volcano eruption.
