Favorite Genre of Music... BESIDES DISNEY!!!

I'm like Spaulo - I have very eclectic tastes. Lately, though, I've been getting more into Anime, although I don't have any of the soundtracks from Studio Ghibli's movies. I plan to include them when I start buying CDs again, however....

Oh man, AGREED on "Friends In Low Places"... seems like people who claim to not even like country music know the words to the chorus of that song! I was in a hip little bar in San Francisco... not exactly a country-music-friendly joint... and one table started belting out that song.

By the third chorus, the whole bar full of tattooed, pierced hipsters was singing along a capella. It was awesome.

Yeah, i think "Friends in low places" is reaches a much wider audience. I'm pretty sure there's much fewer people outside of Texas who know David Allen Coe then who know Garth Brooks. But "You never even call me by my name has some of the best word in any song. Here's the end of the song....

That's what I'm talking about. Old school Fresh prince, NBN, Hammer, 2pac, even a bit of Dre, Cube, and Warren G. Then you get the fun stuff, like Ice, and Skee lo. I remember Jammin to "I wish" by Skee Lo when I was a kid.

Don't count me in that group; there's very few country songs I like. Why my Dad likes that genre, I don't know.... but to me, I'll take James Bond's description of it: "Who's strangling the cat?"

Mind you, that's for most of country music -- not all of it.

Easy for me. 60's and 70's rock with a smathering of Electric Light Orchestra, Beatles and George Harrison. Not necessarily in that order.

When I'm not listening to Subsonic, I generally listen to Christian music (top 40's type), then I listen to a station that plays mostly 80's music.

I liked country during the 90's, and still enjoy it from time-to-time, but ODed on it a bit.

(I listen to music from the time I wake up 'til I go to bed - unless the TV is on. I grew up that way 'cause my Dad had a constant ringing in his ears, so HE always had music on.)

Well I pretty much like all genres of music, with the exception of country. I hates it!!!
Having said that I did find myself humming to Rascal Flatts on Winamp radio yesterday & actually enjoying it

I cant really pinpoint too many bands or groups I actually have a preference to within those genres, plus it would also take me forever to name them all, lol.

Classical, blues, drum & bass, alternative rock, punk rock, reggae, metal, rap, ambient, Frank Sinatra & pretty much anything else from that era, jazz, trance, some 50's music, motown, classical movie soundtracks, and I also have a healthy obsession with just about anything from the 80's.

I mostly listen to classical though, I find it relaxing. Bach just kicks ass!!!

I am into New age, Ambient, Chill Out, Acuostic Music, I stared listening to New Age Music back in 1987. it was New Age Piano Artist Name Tim Story, These days i listen to David Arkenstone, Yanni, John Tesh , William Ackerman,Alex De Grassi, Michael Hedges,Scott Cossu,Windham Hill, Narada Artist, And Shadowfax, As well as Deep Forest, And David Lanz.

I have pretty wide-ranging tastes, but I don't follow new music much, and I really don't like country music. I love jazz and music from the great American songbook (Tony Bennett, Ella Fitzgerald, Harry Connick), and folk and some rock (Beatles, Rolling Stones, Springsteen, U2). I love Motown and R&B (Gladys Knight, Stevie Wonder, the Temptations). I also love world music, especially Celtic, African and Latin. And I like classical, especially opera and choral. I love show tunes and collect cast recordings. And I love Disney music. I guess that just about covers it. Music makes my world go round.
