well, I'll be down there from 12/1/06 - 12/7/06. as far as days in the parks, not sure if we'll do 6 days in the parks and 1 day going to DTD or something. Reservations aren;t done for anything as yet, as we haven;t even reserved the space yet (doing that this weekend). only reservation we're making so far is for the EPCOT Segway tour. But, we've still got some time to figure things out.

ooooooooooooooooooooooooooo The Segway tour! You SO have to let me know how that goes! (They are Built in NH!) I've always wanted to ride one... We'll have to find a way to wave to each other when we're at the parks! I can't wait!

yep, will do, I'll probably do a whole trip report while down there (I'm going to bring my laptop with a wireless broadband card so I have access while there). And, as you said (and I see on your itinerary), you have that Thursday morning free, we could probably meet then and go do breakfast or something.. remember that also Dr. Ravenscroft will be with me the whole time too....

It's not really "Tex-Mex" kind of Mexican. It's more like actual Mexican food, not the Americanized version. That sort of stuff is at the Cantina. They do have some taco type stuff in San Angel but maybe 1 or 2 dishes on the menu. If you're looking for a menu packed with enchilidas, chimichangas, tacos, quesadillas, etc. San Angel Inn isn't really the place. The food is good at San Angel, especially dor a theme park, but I've definitely had better Mexican (both the "Tex-Mex kind and the real/gourmet kind) up here in Mass.


P.S. I also ate at Askershus (I know I probably spell it wrong everytime but oh well) before it was character dining. Probably 4 times actually. The first few it was JUST a buffet, the time before it became princess it was buffet + unlimited, kitchen prepared menu items that you could order one at a time as many times as you wanted...that was the best experience I had there. I went there in July and was dissapointed to see that the MEATBALLS ARE GONE!!!!!!!!???? They also limit you to one menu item, but it's a standard size dish now + they add a soft drink and desert I think. As long as they keep the goat cheese I think I'll keep going back - but I kinda want to try Biergarten, any comments on that? Is the snitznel good? :)

Semitic consumption observations aside, I have had chinese food in NYC and I was not particularly impressed... San Francisco and the surrounding cities have some of the most amazing chinese, korean, japanese (both sushi and more traditional fare), thai, and vietnamese restaurants... both in variety and quality... that you will find in this great Union of ours. And I'll stand by that.

That being said, I still find Nine Dragons to be decent, but not spectacular. Because of a personal penchant for the cuisine, I make it a point to dine there once each time I go to WDW.

My Hubby and I went there. Great German Buffet and FUN FUN FUN oompa band (and BEER!)

I would also skip ND. I was there in 2002 and was not impressed at all. Food was average and expensive for what it is. I'm from NY and we have much better Chinese food here. I love the Biergarten. It's so much fun and the food is good. I would also try San Angel.

We are going down in early November and we have a hotel reservation at FQ, but my sister-in-law cannot get my brother to decide if he is going until after Labor Day. I'm freaking out that there will not be any flights left. She also wants to wait to make any dinner reservations! I hope we can still get some :minnie:

I love to organize and this is driving me crazy! :lol:

Ok, i guess that was just a bad assumption by me. I think when most people talk about mexican food, they just mean Tex-Mex. Of course there are great interior mexican restaraunts down here too. Which is actually the type of mexican I prefer. Less gound beef and beans, more fish, and stews, lots of spice and flavor. Personally I think most Tex-Mex is the same 5 ingredients (beef, cheese, beans, lettuce, and tomato) wrapped in some form of tortilla and served with rice. Taco, Burrito, enchillada, tostada, chilupa, they're all basically the same. Oh and jut for the record, Taco Bell isn't mexican or Tex-Mex.

I've dined at San Angel. One thing though: if you're not a spicy food lover, skip it! (That is me all the way - a bit of stomach flu a few years ago made even Pepperoni hard to munch without an antacid.)

But it's up to you, really....

That sucks. I'm sorry you had to give up spicy food, I know I could never do it permently. I love spicy stuff, and the summer before my freshman year of college I thought it would be a good idea to go around to a bunch of restaurants in the austin area trying to find the best, spiciest buffalo wings in town. I landed up giving myself a slight ulcer and was on prevacid for about 6 months. Since then every once in a while I have a flair up and can't go to town like I used to, but I still have to get spicy stuff every once in a while. I just can't go as spicy. I have to get the hot instead of the XXX Apocolypse wings :D

2 things...
one - word of advice, never come to Buffalo and call them "Buffalo Wings". I've seen people do that around here and natives will just look at them like they're speaking a foreign language. They're just "Chicken Wings" here.

two - You haven't tried hot until you eat at Duff's around here. just the medium wings are enough to strip the paint of a car, and that's the truth (they've tried it before).

Wow, I'm gonna have to get up there at some point and get some real wings then. Are the ones at Duff's breaded, or just the wing? I'm sure I'll pay for it later, probably for a few months, but I love wings, always have. I'll try pretty much any at least once. There's a few places down here that do the "if you can eat 25 or our super spicy wings you get your picture on the wall" thing. That summer, I got about 5 pictures up, but the most I could eat between getting full and the heat was around 35 wings. I can't believe the people who can get like 125-150 wings down. That's just amazing.

you don;t bread chicken wings... only knock-off places like Hooters put breading on chicken wings.

That was my opinion also. When I fry wings at home, I just brown the wing, but everyone down here breads them unless you ask them not to. It drives me nuts.
