Oooh, a heated discussion.

Bob Segar was taken out.

Beatles will probably not go in.

My decisions always fluxuate. There are a lot of tracks in DCA that may not be considered "Disney" but, DCA also isn't that big and filler is needed. I think EPCOT has the most tracks for any one park... I just checked, DL has the most followed by EPCOT... 104 - DCA, 466 - EPCOT, 598 - Disneyland. Anyways, EPCOT has a lot.

But really what it boils down to is what I like or don't like. Sometimes things aren't fair.

Have you ever been to EPCOT???? How old are you?? Do you think the British invasion is writen by the guys playing at EPCOT?? It's Beatle music, read a history book! It was in all the papers of the time!! NEXT!!!
Dude, gee wiz calm down already, why so defensive over something so minor? The Beatles were before my time, but last I checked the band was 1/2 dead. Further, they've not played at Epcot in the 100 or so times that I visited the Disney resort. I realize British Invasion is playing their music and imitating them - but they're not them.

I appreciate hearing music I hear in the parks, resorts and other Disney areas - but I think Sub has a good policy of keeping imitation out. And in this case The Beatles would be imitation of British Invasion. :P

Most of the music from World Showcase belongs to a gray area as it is. And I think the British Invasion cover band is a good example of pushing that past the limit.

If it were up to me, we'd take all the World Showcase music out and move it to a special scheduled show, and not allow requests from it. Good thing it's not up to me

I think we should let Sub make the judgment calls since he's been doing a pretty good job maintaining such a huge playlist for so long as it is.

and it'll just get longer too, as there is a rather large backlog of tracks to put in. and with people uploading (and myself finding stuff every so often), it just keeps growing...

Oops I hit the wrong button on the vote...ha ha ha

I have a new laptop and I am trying to use all kinds of hot keys, etc. I wasn't paying attention. I clicked on yes when I meant to click on no. Not that it matters =) I just need to pay more attention and not be in such a hurry. Plus going from a PC to a laptop my fingers are like jello bouncing all over this keyboard.

Sub, you do a fabulous job on this site! I am glad that you put this site up so that we too care share with you in our passion for the Disney Parks.

jacca5560, I had asked about Disney movies soundtracks and Sub said no and I was totally fine with that, because you can hear those on other stations. What is played on this site makes it unique and interesting to listen to. It invokes memories of many, many trips to the parks for all of us. I haven't been to WDW in years and years, so I enjoy hearing all this stuff, it will be interesting when I finally get there and hear what I hear on here at the parks. I am sorry that what you asked about didn't get added, but there are many of us on here that have asked and told that it didn't fit the station, so please don't take it personal.

BTW Sub: I love the new Scheduled Stream and the schedule!!

It's not just popular music like Bob Seger. I get slightly annoyed when "Appalachian Spring" comes up in the playlist. I love Appalacian Spring and have a lot of Copeland music, but it just doesn't say "Disney" to me. But maybe it does to someone else. I'd be in favor of erring on the side of inclusion rather than exclusion; I wouldn't like to see Subsonic start to throw out anything that isn't "pure Disney."

Don't they play that at wilderness lodge?

That's the main problem. Because this kind of stuff IS played at the parks it usually is a memory for someone. It is in my todo list for certain tracks to only be requests and not play randomly.

heh, even "Hollywood Nights" reminds me of walking around DCA...

As does Randy Newman's "I Love L.A."... no plans to ditch that one, right?

I think what needs to happen is what I've discussed previously. Set some of the tracks to only be requests and not play randomly.

Should be a simple flag to add to each song's MySQL record, right?

Close, but based on a category mapping table.

Maybe we could have one file of the British Invasion listed on here like how Off Kilter is listed on here. So that way if it does get selected, it only gets selected every 24 hours which is better then having indivudual tracks.
