Question Concerning the Nine Dragons Restaurant in Epcot

Ok, I had a quick question Concerning the Nine Dragons Restaurant in Epcot. How is the food? Is it just like every other Chinese Restaurant you've ever been to, or is it Stellar? Although my sis and I have our reservations all made for restaurants etc... (we've not been to the 9 dragons before) we were wondering if it was worth one of our meal vouchers.

Here in northern california, we have some of the best Chinese restaurants in this hemisphere... that being said, I would put the food at the Niner Dragons at about a 7/10... if a "fast food" chinese place like Panda Express or Empress Express is a 1.

The food is really very good for being in a theme park, and I am always at least somewhat impressed by my meal there when I go.

Exactly. I've been there a few times, and when it came to what I ordered- it was hit or miss. The dishes are a bit pricey(to me), but the food is generally good. If you have reservations- go for it.

And if you dont like it- you don't ever have to worry about the restaurant ever again.

For Asian food, I'd personally do Teppanyaki over Nine Dragons, but I've not been to ND in quite a few years just after some bad experiences there. However, I've heard they've substantially improved as confirmed by Steve's post. I have a client who dined there a few months back and she raved about it.

The food is good. But being from Brooklyn, it's nothing special. The walk up is one of the best in EPCOT though.

Have you been to NYC Steve? Being a NY Italian (FBI) and having many Jewish freinds, I was always told you could judge how good a Chinese restaurant is by how many Jewish people eat there. Judging by that, "NYC has the best Chinese food in the WORLD!!"

Well, My sis and I are trying to decide wheter to cancel the Nine Dragons, and instead make Reservations for San Angel (Mexico), But I wanted to see how the ND restaurant fared before canceling. Hmmmmmmm it seems that I really wouldn't be missing anything spectacular (Like if we canceled, say Le Cellier) if I DO cancel. I didn't get any overwhelming "Yes the ND is AWESOME" so, I don't feel so bad about switching.

Have you ever tried Askershus? A lot of people neglect it but it's really quite good. I don't know about the dining plan though so maybe it isn't the same tier or whatever.

Actually... I've eaten at Akershus BEFORE it was Princess Dining! It was quite good! And My sis and I are eating there (have reservations already) when we go in Dec!

And JS.. Planning for vacations is one of the FUN parts! When everything is taken care of ahead of time, I dont have to THINK on my vacation! Woohoo! It also adds to the excitement and anticipation. I guess.... in a way, it makes my vacation last longer than it really is!

I love doing the research!

Yeah, I feel the same way, but I also feel it's a good thing to just walk into the parks and just meander around taking in all the magic, eventually finding something (food, attractions, etc) worth doing in the travels.

I've planned this December's trip for the past 4 years, researching tidbits of information from various sources (alot of it has come from these boards). and it's been alot of fun in doing that. but I don't have EVERY little detail like you have. I wouldn;t even know where to begin to be as completely organized as you are, based off that website...

Heheheh, That's what my sis and i have done in the past, but not being able to get into the restaurants we've wanted to try, and searching around (with rumbling tummies) trying to find a place to eat was a hassel. This is also the 4th time I've been since 2002. This time, with a loose plan in place, we can get to the overlooked details....and take our time to do the stuff we want (as well as take advantage of the extra magic hours!) WOOHOO! How is your trip coming along? Have you made your reservations yet? How many day will you be in the parks?

Question, living in Texas we get lots of great mexican food here. Just curious, does anyone know how San Angel stacks up against really good Tex-Mex?
