Oh, okay. Yeah, it was still called Studio Catering Co at least until a few months ago then. I didn't venture into that area often, so if the menu changed, then I didn't notice.

I really enjoyed the Sci-Fi cafe. My wife, my mom, and my little bro went there for a whim and we were really surprised. The atmosphere is great, and to be able to eat in the cool darkened building was wonderful. Plus, it was fun to eat while watching the trailers for all the cheesy Sci-Fi movies of the 50's. They really did a great job designing that place.

http://allearsnet.com/menu/men_ble.htm
That site has "Menu Date: June 2006"
I was there July 04 2006 and if it's the place I think you're talking about by Honey I Shrunk the Kids playground it is definitely called something else and that is not the same menu. It is called "<Something I forget> Flatbread" or something Flatbread. I know it had pulled pork roll w/ chips which I what I got and a flatbread chicken ceasar roll up which my friend and g/f got. Then I think there was like a chili dog or something and some sort of desert.
Maybe it changed between June and July.

Is it the one by Honey I Shrunk the Kids playground? between the playground and the Backlot Studio Tour/fountain area where the yhad the big coke bottle? There is a counter service there but it's not Backlot Express anymore and the menu they have on AllEars is not the one they had on July 4th, none of it is the same I don't think. Maybe I'm thinking of someplace different but I wouldv'e sworn that was Backlot Express because it was one of the few counter service's my family would go to because when I was a kid I'd play in the playground and they'd have a beer and a snack.

Yeah, Backlot Express is right between Indiana Jones and Star Tours. It's got all the movie props inside the restaurant. The one near the Honey I Shrunk the Kids Playground used to be called Studio Catering Co. It's an outside quick service restaurant.

i have only eaten there once. i just remember burgers and generic stuff. i don't remember anything special. i just don't understand how one burger place like backlot express can be so different from a place like pecos bills at the magic kingdom.

Oh oops

I thought Studio Catering was the one that became the Commissary. I don't think I've ever noticed Backlot Express then. I've notied the souveneir stands and stuff between Star Tours and Indy Show but never a restaurant I don't think. Or is there like a watertower out front?

Never noticed Backlot Express? It's got all the white chairs and tables. Well I guess it is surrounded by trees...
Everyone likes that turkey sandwich but me.

The icecream shakes are awesome. And you just can't beat the crazy movies going on the whole time. Seems like there were good options for adults and kids.

Yeah. People would ask me "where is the Backlot?" And I would reply, "do you mean the restaurant or the attraction?"
