I'm sure it is, but I don't think it matters. I wouldn't be supprised if lots of people do it.

wrong in what sense?

I think it's ok, so long as you don;t go overboard. a couple of pencils/pens, a pad of paper or two here and there...

That's true, everything in moderation. As long as you don't steal a laser printer or anything like that, I think you're ok.

If I owned the office, I would certainly consider it stealing.

Your office supplies are there for YOUR office use... IN the Office, not your children's use. Would you think it was ok for your mechanic to use your car for his (or her) personal use? It's stealing.

Stealing is stealing, no matter how you justify it.

I have a co-worker who uses a pen at work keeps it in him pocket goes home relizes he took it means to bring it in and forgets. He does this a lot and yes he forgets hes an old man. What do you think about that? Is stealing but doesn't mean too just happens to leave the pen in his pocket and leaves for the day.

I think there needs to be a willful intent regarding stealing - but is this guy forgetting about a pen in his pocket 5 times a week or randomly?

Forgetting it's in his pocket and bringing it back is one thing, everyone is forgetful at times. It's when you purposely take things from the office for your or a family member's personal use that crosses the line.

I totally agree....... Intent is the issue here. If you have to ASK if it's wrong.. then it probably is.
