Favorite childhood memory of Disneyland

Post by skipper » Jul Fri 07, 2006 6:29 pm

O.k. what is your favorite childhood memory of the park? Mine has to be going with my grandmother and all my cousins. Grandma just let us go and do whatever and having my cousins there to enjoy all the rides with was just great. We all loved the peoplemover and went on it many times.

A torrential downpour when my family was down there one offseason. I was about 13. The four of us got those yellow Mickey ponchos, and walked on to every single ride (that was open during the rainfall) all day. Best day in the park EVER.

Steve you reminded me of another time I went with my family and family friends in the off season and we to got ponchos and walked on every ride. Thanks for your comment you have just brought back a flood of memories of that wonderful rainy day at Disneyland. What a blast! :D

I remember my first time at Disneyland. I was only two. I remember only thing barely. I was in Toontown late and it was real cold. Minnie was outside saying hello to guests and I went up to her. She then zipped up my jacket, gave me a kiss and gave me a hug. 8) Smooth with Minnie I was!!

Actually... now that I think about it  there was even a better time. I was six and we were visiting Ariel :ariel: I saw her and I told her I loved her. DIRECT!!! I gave her a kiss on the cheek and she did the same but she left a lipstick on my cheek. I said , "Boy, she's a Pip!" I was quoting Laurel and Hardy!!

I think my favorite memory of going to Disneyland was going with my cousins. They're the best, and having their presence (plus the fact they rarely go) really made it fun.

Digging down deep into my childhood memories of Disneyland...Probably when I was about 9 or 10, and just walking to an attraction with my mom, dad and little brother. The thing that stuck out as we were walking, was that we were all holding hands. It was really sweet and I wanted that feeling of contentment to last as long as possible.

I don't really remember anything from when I went when I was really little (like, under 4) but apparently I was terrified of all the characters, especially Mickey :mickey: Which is kind of odd since I'm like Disney obsessed now lol.

I don't personally remember this memory but my Mom likes to tell it to me all the time. When I was two years old my mom took me on Pirates of the Caribbean and she said when we got to the part where the skull is like, "Psst, Avast there! Ye come seekin adventure and salty ol' Pirates aye? Sure you've come to the proper place." She said I just stared at it, listening very intently. I was watching so hard that I didn't notice the drop. And when we went down she said my eyes got so big and my mouth just dropped open. She said I stayed that way th rest of the ride.
Pirates is currently and always has been my favorite ride.
I do stuff sometimes.

Although I dont remember this day because I was too little, this happens to be my #1 qualifier for my most memorable trip to Disneyland, simply because it was with both my Great Grandma and Great Grandpa (both who are not with us anymore :( ) when I was about 2 years old.. pictures can say a million words and these definitely do it for me :)

It would have to be when i was about five. Mom had gotten me a tinkerbell wand that glowed and i was waving it about with the electrical parade. I thought i wasn the star!
Yes, this is my happy place! Well, when not in my happy place.

It's official, The family is visiting Disneyland in October!

I would have to say that it was when i was in the second grade. It was my first trip there and it just seemed like another world. I really didnt know what to make of it. All of these wonderful sights and smells. When i go back everytime i can relive over again. Disneyland is like my time machine to my youth, its an amazing thing :mickey:

:mickey: Watching The Mickey Mouse Club I dreamed of going to Disneyland. My memory was watching Walt talk about Disneyland. I still wonder why I wasn't choosen to be an original Mouseketeer!! Mind you I couldn't sing or dance. I just loved Mickey Mouse.
