WDW Castle is vandalized!

Post by DISNEYman » Nov Thu 18, 2004 9:44 pm

This was brought to my attention in another forum. WDW's Cinderella Castle was TP'd in celebration of the new Stitch Encounter ride. I thought it was a nice touch by Disney.

I think the castle looks stupid like that. I like what they did for the 25th or 30th anniverssary a few years ago (making it look like a giant cake), but this is not very imaginative...

I had to laugh when I saw what they did - laughingplace.com has a lot of photos of the opening ceremony including the group of Elvis impersonators and Cobra Bubbles not to mention the Wanted signs posted around the park with the typical "wild west outlaw" look with Stitch's picture on them...

haha, i thought that was funny. as for not being original? well not really, but thats the first castle ive seen TP'd and it shows that Disney has a...certain sense of humor.

I hated the castle as a cake. I was at WDW 6 years ago and that's what it was. How dissapointing.

The Toilet Paper is great. How long will it be like that?

I'm curious: were the posters accessable enough to rip from the walls and take home? and if so, how much can I expect to see them on ebay for?

I think its pretty funny, though, the "Stitch is King" graffiti being on a piece of conviently placed butcher paper seems a bit of a cop-out. :)

Is it real toilet paper, or magic disney toilet paper that you need pixie dust instead of a garden hose to clean up?

Oh no doubt this is heavy duty stuff [in otherwords big rolls of fabric] but the stuff that was shot into the crowds was reportedly the real deal [creative idea to stuff the air cannons with that rather than confetti]

I think it's cute, but then again kind of a bummer. I mean, think about it, not everyone has the luxury of being able to pop down to WDW whenever they so choose, some families have to scrimp and save every penny just to go ONCE! How would you feel if the shining icon of Disney (the castle) was "vandalized" and your obligatory family picture in front came out lame because of it?

It's a cute idea to the people who've been before, but I think it would've been better if they'd maybe only done the back half or something so that people's once-in-a-lifetime memories weren't tarnished with that image.

Very good point.

I tried to add onto what you said, but you summed it up perfectly.

I thought this was great...very Stitch like. Great advertisement for their ride.
