Oh, I teach piano so I call them my Piano families. Some people call them clients which seems too detached for me.

I used to just use their last names, but over the years, the families shifted so it's easier to call them piano families. For several years I mostly had students of brothers and sisters from the same family of 12, so most of my students were cousins. I only have one student from that family anymore. What I find interesting is I don't have very many "common"ly named students. There used to be a lot of Davids, Michaels, Marys, which given their parents were from a large Catholic family isn't surprising, but now there is a Haven, Sawyer, little sister/future student Miller, all in one family. Raksha, Laksha (twins) and little sister Anisha in another, Iniya and Kiruba, the last two groups' parents having immigrating to the US from India just 13-14 years ago. I've tried to learn Tamil, but the only thing I seem to be able to remember are a few colors, hello, good to see you again, and goodbye. And older sister, Akka, which is the same as red in Japanese which I studied in college so I just had to partner that up in my brain.
So there you go, more than you wanted to know ~ haha! It's Spring break so I've been a little isolated, can you tell?

I like the "piano family" reference. Better than "clients" for sure. Neat how names change. In my kindergarten class there were 4 Heather's and 4 Michael's. The next year another school opened and most went there, but they all showed up again in high school. Not that I meet many young people, but I can't remember the last time I met a Heather.

We had 2 or 3 Heathers in school together. I was one of 4 or 5 Amys, but they were all spelled differently And here lately I'm running into all kinds of Amys
I've also noticed a return to what I would consider old fashioned names. One family has a Moira, Alice and George. Another has Charlotte, Finn, Stella, and Henry. I know of so many Stellas right now, it's weird.
