even some of the newer EPCOT attractions are great (Soarin', test track). Test track is a favorite for people (at least the queue) from what I've heard, and it really gets you into the ride of a car testing facility by putting you in the freezer/oven, running over rocks/rough road, etc.

True, but it's all about the 60mph bank turn at the end. So verrrrry fun after a couple half-yards at the Rose & Crown! RAWK!

It is funny how movies are becoming park attractions and the park attractions are becoming movies.

well, WDP has said they will no longer be making the attractions into movies, based on the "success" of HM and that other one I won't mention. The only exception to that statement is sequels for PotC because that movie WAS popular, as opposed to the others.

Well that, and how many "classic" Disney attractions are left to make movies about, that weren't about movies themselves? I'm not sure you could ever come up with a decent storyline for "Space Mountain"... it'd be down to, basically, Big Thunder... a western comedy/adventure? Ooooh... it sounds just too easy to screw up.

This is based, of course, on the idea that people would launch into murderous rampages at movies based on IASW or Tiki Room, and that Jungle Cruise was based on The African Queen...

I just hope they have good ventilation  the one thing I hated about that ride was the cramped quarters and if you are next to someone with a slight body odor problem, it can make the trip, well, lets say unbearable  (I know in the hot California sun it's inevitable) and I told my son if you "rip one" while we are on this, you are in big trouble :!:

Why is it taking so long for that ride to get finished up? It seems like construction has gone on forever. It's not like they are building the mt. everest attraction after all.

I sure hope finding Nemo does not turn out to be as lame as Winnie the Pooh - now there's a ride that takes steps backwards on the progress path. (did anyone else get that creepy itch feeling that your time was being hopelessly wasted about half way through that attraction? - It's almost like a panic like "GET ME OFF THIS THING" that sets in). heheh

I remember riding the classic sub ride and not minding it too much, but I will check out this new ride with an open mind. Can't wait for it

Well looking at it from a construction point of view, they have to finish the main structures, electrical, plumbing, heating, AIR CONDITIONING (most important one), flooring, and ofcourse a whole host of finish work. Then the WDI folks come in and add all of the wonderful finishing touches. And if the WDI's see something they don't like it has to be ripped out and rebuilt. Then you have all of the sub-contracters such as lighting guys and sound guys.

Oh and not to mention the people working on re-habbing the subs and the tracks they run on.

Sorry if it sounds a little boring or one sided, it's just that ALOT of people are involved in this project.

plus, don;t forget that the subs have not been used in a while (right?). they have to make sure they work correctly and safely before opening it up. and those safety inspections can take a while.

Yes, but there are other attractions that nearly come out of no-where they are built so fast. This ride seems to be taking longer than others.

the other rides weren't underwater which could potentially endanger guests lives. also, lately the rides that opened were part of the 50th celebration, now that the anniversary is almost over, they're not in such a hurry to get things done...

When does the 50th Celebration end by the way?

True but things like, just as an example, Monster's were total gut and rebuild from scratch, but the sub ride was a:
"oh let's keep this, and this, and this, but loose that over there, and keep that thing hanging from the ceiling. Oh and trash everything else touching those" kind of a build. now that takes a long time to finish.

It ends in October right when the Year of a Million Dreams celebration begins (probably October 2006 to October 2007)
