Didn't they re-open it recently as Club Cool or something like that? I thought I read that somewhere, and that it still had free drinks :D I'll have to check it out the next time I'm down there.

Yes, it is reopened as Club Cool. When I was there a few weeks ago most of the soda areas were empty and they only had one or two different drinks available to sample. What's up with that! :o

Gosh that is nuts - on the three visits to WDW that we've been on since Club Cool opened it's been great (well not the sodas but you get the drift).

Yeah I was just there 2 weeks ago and it was all refurbished and they took away all the snow and "cool" effect. Now you just walk through some doors and bam you're there.

I don't know... maybe it's because I live in a place where winter lasts 6 months, but the "snow" part of Ice Station Cool was never that appealing to me. We always visit Florida in winter or early spring, so being warm is not a bad thing and seeing snow is hardly a novelty.

The attraction for me has always been learning about and sampling what people drink in other parts of the world... my favorite is the watermelon-flavor (China?).

I was just reading over the posts here and I had to giggle at all of the Beverly posts (the drink from Italy).
Being Italian, I think I need to set this straight.

The reason that the drink is bitter is because it is an appertif- which means that it is drank after a meal to help wash it down and just to have a nice finish to the meal.
There are alot of Italian drinks that do the same thing- a lot of them alcoholic- like the bitter apertif Campari, and the licorice tasting Sambuca.

Bitter is a much more previlant flavor in Italy than it is here in the US, and that is why it is so popular there.

Personally, I *LOVE* Beverly, and I actually have a funny story about it.

My husband, our friend Jon, and I were at Epcot years ago, when it was still Ice Station Cool.
My hubby was out of work and broke (he had gotten an annual pass while he still had a job) and I explained to him that if he drank a whole glass (those little paper glasses, I would guess about 4-6 oz) of Beverly with *NO* chaser and *NO* water afterwards, I would buy him lunch.
He did it, and I bought him lunch, but it was worth it just to watch his face. And I am still not sure he has ever forgotten or forgiven. :)

A Beverly is no way to have a nice finish to a meal. ;) Perhaps to relive the meal, if you catch my drift!
