Everytime I read or see anything to do with this film it seems better and better, I just hope that they don't make the delay between the 2nd and 3rd films too long. Even if they are filmed at the same time the time delay between releases always seems a long time. :(

Maximize profit.. If the release them to closely together profits will slip greatly. Look at the last 2 matrix movies (Granted niether were very good), but they suffered from this.

I want Disney to make the most money they possibley can on these movies.. The more they make the better the likelyhood of them making more movies of this calibur.

They've already said that it's July 2006/July 2007. Not so bad. :) Jason Surrell pointed out exactly what addlema said. People suffered Matrix blahs because they were so close together, and Disney didn't want to make the same mistake. I still say it was because they stunk, but that's probably not the general consensus. :)

Chow Yun-Fat is also in it as a pirate (it takes place in the Orient), which should make for some really cool original settings. :)

Wow Disney is going to rule the big office sweeps in July for the next two years.. That makes me happy. The first POC movie might have been one of the best things since Toy Story for Disney Movie productions.

Now give me Tron 2.0 the movie and I'll be happy (ohh and don't screw it up)!

Like I said, Jason Surrell went over every aspect of the script for PotC:DMC, and it actually sounded like they're going to pull of an excellent storyline. I don't know that I like the sound of it -quite- as much as the first one, but it still sounds rock-solid. I'm more interested in the third one to tell you the truth. The new setting could definitely breathe some new life into a genre of movies that has bombed repeatedly over the years.

Speaking of which, just as an aside, PotC was pitched to the studios YEARS ago. Right after Cutthroat Island. It's not hard to see why Disney decided against it (even though I actually quite liked Cutthroat Island... I'm a pirate fan through and through). Then a plan was to make a PotC movie years later without any thought to the original pitch. The script passed hands repeatedly until it accidentally ended up in the hands of the ORIGINAL people who pitched the idea. They then scrapped that idea, went back to their original one, and impressed everyone with it. And the rest is history. :)

Ok! I'm a big Pirates fan!! I've been a huge fan of the ride before the movies we're even thought of. I have the official site as my homepage. I went through the whole tour of the site trying to get to the end and win the prize. I eventually won the prize (I'm not going to tell you what it was, so don't ask). But not after finding a bunch of hidden items all throughout the hunt. I just finished a video productions class and we did a special on the second movie. The trailer and the teaser look pretty good. I'm going to the midnight showing in my home town. The plot seems pretty good too. Looks like Sparrow is caught in another debt, except this time it will cost him his freedom and life. Will and Elizabeth are going to get married but Jack contacts Will and the wedding is put on hold. Jack and Will go galavanting off to all corners of the earth to find all the plunder jack needs to repay the debt and earn back his freedom by opening the dead mans chest. Apparently Elizabeth doesn't know where Will went so she goes off to find him. She evetually catches up I'm sure. And hopefully the movie ends with Will and Elizabeth finally getting married. Now this all just what I got from the website and articles and stuff. I really have know definate idea what this movie will hold. Oh! But I do know that we get to see Bootstrap Bill, Will Turners dad.
I do stuff sometimes.

I don't know what chanel it was just on, but there was a sneak peak of the POTC on t.v.. It was added to the end of a special about the new movie. If you missed the show, it'll probably re-play.

There was a Red Carpet Show on E. Depp is amazing and I can't wait to go and see the new Movie. I'm a huge Superman fan and I'm totally overlooking it because of the Pirate movie coming up. Can't wait to ride again once it's re-opened.

Here's a really cool film of Johnny Depp riding the new PoC at DL last week.

THAT WAS AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love hearing about stuff like that. The movement are Jack Sparrow. I am amazed at how life like the characters look. The one that he is standing next to seems to have more movements then any of the other AA in the parks. I mean all of the movements are combined to make it seem more realistic.

Edit: I forgot to say that it almost looked like the AA was going to bite Depp.

I thought I'd read somewhere that some of the AAs in the parks have had their movement restricted to reduce wear and tear on the figures and their costumes, and thus save money. Does anyone else recall reading something like that?

Anyway, maybe the new figures look so good because the company has too much riding on them to cut corners. Maybe all the other figures could be just as realistic in their movement if the company wasn't always trying to cut back.

Like others, I have mixed feelings about the PoC additions, but if they are a success, maybe Disney will pay more attention to the other classic AA attractions.
