PayPal donations?

Post by DisneyManInSeattle » Jun Fri 02, 2006 2:07 pm

One popular thing with other sites is the ability for people to give a donation via paypal. Has there been any thoughts to do this with subsonicradio?

I think accepting money for the site... even in a donation, won't-even-break-even on costs sense, could potentially open Sub up to some kind of legal recourse from WDC... though I'm no lawyer.

I've thought hard about it. When I looked at other sites and saw they were taking donations I felt kind of bad that they are using my idea (mostly requests) and making money off of it. But, I really don't want to get into legal issues with Disney. But overall, it does feel good that I'm totally free and don't ask for anything.

Though, I do need a UPS barrety backup :) But, I'll get it myself.

Kudos to you, Sub, for what you do!!!! This has fast become my favorite site on the web. What's better than listening to Disney audio clips while you swap stories, ideas, etc. with fellow Disney junkies?

Exactly what I was thinking of when I thought of paypal donations -- how could we donate towards you getting a UPS backup system.

I think it would be nice to help sub pay for some of his bandwidth and stuff. here is one thing sub has said before

You could probably just "Donate" a UPS through Amazon or buy.com to Adam himself and not the website :)

I could use some nice energy drinks now a days too :)

Great Actually. The little dude sleeps for about 3 hours at a stretch so we just sleep when he is. He is now 9 pounds 3 oz and growing at 19 days old.

Right on, grab those sleep hours when you can! Sounds like he is gonna be a big strong boy! Glad everyone has settled nicely into the routine and doing well.

while the donations would be nice, i think that once u started relying on them it could become a curse & a burden. especially on those months u don't make your quota. like getting a raise...then raising your living standards...then getting a paycut.

it's a goldmine 4 me. i guess another possability would b a premium station on live365 or something like that.

i truly appreciate what you're providing. this is a goldmine find 4 me. if u ever get n a rut, lemme know....

And I'm Glad too. I like the way this site is setup, not a big fan of live 365.
