Rocket Rods nearly destroyed the track from what I have read. It was never built to be a high speed ride with the forces the Rocket Rods put on it.
What we need is a rich person who misses the ride to create a company and "Host" the peoplemover. No idea how many millions it would take, but money talks and the Disney board would not say no.

That is true, the cars for rocket rods would speed up on the straight aways and have to slow down for each turn. The turns were too tight for them to go high speed on. And all of that jack rabbit starting and stopping short did one heck of a number on the track. The peoplemovers only went what, 5 mph? And they had the rods going 15 mph and slowing to 5 mph at the turns.Gizmata wrote:Rocket Rods nearly destroyed the track from what I have read. I would have given people mover my vote however there were several ticks on that ride:
1 - very bumpy
2 - uncomfortable seats which were magnified by bumpy ride
3 - That speed section (indoors) nevery really did anything for me
4 - Dull attraction music
on the plus
1) I liked it when they added TRON to the attraction.
2) A good attraction to phase out on (in between pot holes or whatever it was that made that ride plow like a bad tractor.
3) Futuristic for its time - To bad we did not see people mover and monorails used more in real-life applications.
