Magic Your Way Ticket Tag

Post by little_hippo2005 » Jan Sat 22, 2005 12:44 pm

Does anyone know what the new "Ticket Tag," system is or what it exactly does? It is suppose to link your ticket to you by scanning your finger print and inserting your ticket. :?

I was quite confused by that but didn't have to worry since I'm still using older Park Hoppers. Remember the tickets when they had your photo on them? I have a feeling it will be one of the many ticket experiments that they try and then fade away in a year...

The size and other dimensions of your finger are stored on the ticket so that way you cant give your ticket to others to use.

Oh fun - if you have a huge "Magical Gathering" with one ticket holder you are gonna be sitting there for awhile trying to figure out who has what ticket, or better yet, stuck behind one of those groups that didn't mark tickets with names and are trying everyone's fingers to try to get in...

BTW - anyone know more about these new automated ticket vending machines at the parks that are supposed to debut this week?

Sounds like the new automated ticket machines are now in place and in service - appear to be sort of like the newer subway and train ticket machines but this ticket is going to cost a bit more! Be interesting to see what people say about them...

When I was a Cast Member, we had to use the ticket tag system to get in. It usually works pretty well. However, sometimes it can be a pain and the system won't read your fingers. Usually the CM at the gate can help you. ("Press your fingers down hard," etc.) There were a few occasions when it took severeal tries for me to get through. But I just might not have been doing it right!

Is that the same system they have for the annual passes? Ir seems to work well... I know i've never had a problem getting thru the gate :)

I believe it is. My friends are AP holders and they used the same machine.

Your finger prints stay the same from birth to death, they are unique to you so I don't think growing will matter. Now if only we could do something about my "growing weight!"

So I don't think they actually have the fingerprints on file, although it would be good in cases of pedophiles.

It's not fingerprints, it's biometrics. And don't fret, knedeau, the system is measuring proportions in addition to size. That means that even if the kids grow the ratio of, say, index finger to middle finger remains the same.
