Rule 34. Every time. Even on a Disney board.
And leave it to Wizz to mention it

Guilty...
Any lunch time trips to DL planned soon or are you starting to avoid it due to the upcoming holidays?

Usually lunch meetings are once a week, next few weeks are probably going to be back to normal schedule but as the holiday crowds show up we stay away.

The trees are still going up, though the main street tree is not out yet. They also changed the New Orleans Square centerpiece from the wreath with a pixie/some kind of mardi gras figure in it to a giant masquerade mask. A lot of the holiday loops are also running now.

They really should reconsider their holiday crossover timing. I know Nightmare Before Christmas is a thing, but it felt classier when the decorations went up the Monday after Thanksgiving. That was always my favorite week in the park: new decorations, no crowds, weather still great in SoCal.

Did they ever do that at DLR? I can't imagine they could do it now since it takes weeks to install all of the stuff and holiday shows don't start until mid November, which is when they also do any needed tweaks. If it were just throwing on some garlands and strands of lights that would be one thing, but these displays are way more involved.

I actually thought they had been retired a few years back. Guess we will have to be sure to take in one of their last performances when we are there in December

I don't think they ever took a break, even when they were renovating the theater, they were moved to Big Thunder Ranch. One of the things that will be interesting to see is who owns the name of the band? With the cover band at Epcot, they were contracted as "The British Invasion" and could keep their name and perform under it. The Hillbillies are contracted too, most likely, but when they perform outside of the parks they have to use the name "The Billys".

They must be taking advantage of the warmer weather this week, filming has begun at DLR for the Christmas day special.

I was wondering if they would have the Penny Arcade done in time for the parade since they were working pretty noisily on it on Weds. If it weren't finished they would probably have a hard time hiding it since it is centrally located and all.

Creative camera angles, I suppose. Nothing is being worked on directly across the street from the Arcade, is there?

Nope, but it would also mean they couldn't use any shots that look down main street, like they normally have since it would stick out quite a bit. I wonder if there will be a BTMRR segment for the special since it was such a major renovation and even though they missed their target date they would still be able to film/promote it during the special.
