From what I have been hearing, Disney has decided to not do anything with the pavilion after New Years.

Is it closed now? Or are they closing it after New Years?

I would guess the latter, though I am all for a re-decoration. I have some friends who would love to do it for free...

I just read something online that the Imagination Pavilion closed today. Hope they are planning to do something with it and not just let it sit like the poor Wonders of Life pavilion
Anyone know what is happening with Captain EO? Did that close along with the Imagination attraction?

I don't know how to look up refurbishments on WDW's page, but if you know then it might be able to tell you. DLR just lists them right next to park times.

The reurb schedule hasn't been updated to include the Imagination Pavilion yet, so I'm not sure if Captain EO is closed as well. I'm sure they will be closing it to update the movie (hopefully) but I just wonder if they will close it with the pavilion and do it all at once, or close the pavilion first and the movie attraction later.

Well shoot, now I can't find it. I did find this interesting article that has no confirmed information, but is an interesting read through ~ http://www.thedailycity.com/2013/07/is- ... aving.html
And several articles (all written around July of this year) mention that both Captain EO and the Imagination attraction will be closing January 2, 2014. I wonder if I found something with an erroneous date?

I think I found a lot of the same articles from July that you did. I just checked the Epcot site and it shows those attractions up and functioning today, so maybe there are still a couple months left.

they really don't... i always run to wdwmagic or allears.net to check what is currently down... and what is about to go down.

Ah, I suppose for WDW it kind of doesn't matter since you have to book vacations so far in advance, individual ride closures most likely won't impact trip decisions as much as they would at DLR. With the DLR closures they place it on the daily schedule. But seriously, they really need to fix WDW's stuff since the UX is just awful compared to the west coast.

Captain EO. needs to go. We went once and that was it. Not even a quarter of the seats were filled.

Was it ever actually stated by Disney in an official document? I can't seem to find anything and the claim on Wikipedia has no citation.
