my parents are taking the kids back, i have work and my wife has her college classes... *sigh*. i do have a spreadsheet of monorails and buses that they are to fill in.


give them something to do, and to be more aware of the surroundings (both of my kids couldnt tell you how to get from our house to mcdonalds other than lt, rt... no street names)

dunno if they have enough days to do a 'gumball rally' at all 4 gates... but i could build a spreadsheet for all four gates with all the attractions...

Something like that would be fun for them to check things off as they went. You could even assign point values to the things you really think they would enjoy and then they would be excited to see their point total rise. You could even offer a prize for when they return based on their point total, a favorite treat or extra time on the computer or with Mom or Dad. That would give them something to look forward to after vacation so they don't get the post-Disney blues (do kids get post-vacation blues like adults?)
I don't know if they really like transportation or if you are simply wanting them to pay more attention to their surroundings. That's why I suggested a list with characters or attractions, but if they really like transportation like some of y'all here on the forum, they might just want the one checklist

As for the trains, the Lilly Belle is still out for refurb, so it's not in Orlando. One of the trains is only used in the morning for the opening show with the characters, and then parked in the back for the rest of the time (I can't remember which at the moment - Walt or Roy). Broggie is one of the two that runs continuously throughout the day.

When we were at WDW and I took the tour, they used the Walter E. Disney for the morning show. Not sure if that is always the case.


The Roger E. Broggie is the train we rode on to get backstage.

Dagnabit, I'm on the wrong computer tonight. Mental note to check on my computer in the morning! Thanks for the tips on the paint jobs ~ how did I not know that after taking the tour?!

Now officially in the less than 24 hour countdown. Should be crossing into FL about this time tomorrow. Hope to be on property by about 12:30 so that we can go straight to the Trail's End for our first Disney meal. After that, checking in at the WL where I called and upgraded to Club Level without my wife knowing. We'll see how long she stays mad at me for doing that.

I must admit that to my surprise she was not mad at all. We were met at the front doors of the WL by 2 very nice hotel staff and escorted directly to the elevators and straight up to the club level check in desk. During the entire ride up the elevator I could see the perflexed look on her face but when she realized what was happening she was fine.
