Yeah, never got that, or why Santa's Village was so popular in the summer. I prefer my holidays once a year, thank you.Wizzard419 wrote:Nothing makes one feel like the holidays when it is 80-90 out and humid

I never understood why they were ever attractions to begin with. They were usually a petting zoo with depressed animals, some crappy rides, a frozen ice pole dubbed the "north pole", and some sex offender wanting you to sit on his lap.

I wonder if the discount applies to only people with paid memberships or if, now that it is free, they basically are charging two prices even though they should be charging one?
Re: Dateline Disneyland
Well, "free" but they're likely selling e-mails/marketing info/etc., so they can afford to provide a discount.

Re: Dateline Disneyland
Oh, most likely, but they were also doing that when it was paid memberships as well.

There apparently is debate over if the hatbox ghost ever made it to live (in front of guests) in the haunted mansion in the first place. Even the video posted is questionable.
The fortune teller is interesting, but I am guessing it is more puppeteer/voice artist rather than AI.

I don't think the fortune teller was AI either. Cute though and I'm sure guests would love it!Wizzard419 wrote:There apparently is debate over if the hatbox ghost ever made it to live (in front of guests) in the haunted mansion in the first place. Even the video posted is questionable.

It was fun seeing John Goodman and Billy Crystal make their handprints ~ looks like the cement is a little difficult to sign

I would have loved to see the Disney songbook presentation in person!!

Word has it that Indy has a new upgrade added to the ride. Projection mapping to add more life to "halls" after you fail the test.

Saw an iphone video on facebook of the new effects ~ it mostly focused on Mara though so I didn't see much of what was happening to the hallsWizzard419 wrote:Word has it that Indy has a new upgrade added to the ride. Projection mapping to add more life to "halls" after you fail the test.

Some of the die-hards are experiencing butt-hurt over the changes because the projections are not perfectly placed. It might be a beta test since it is only one room rather than the whole ride.

Anything should be an improvement. I never noticed any difference between the different scenarios when we wentWizzard419 wrote:Some of the die-hards are experiencing butt-hurt over the changes because the projections are not perfectly placed. Depending on when you went, the rooms might have been broken. The effects for the chamber of destiny and it's "halls" is neat but it requires such massive movement that it fails semi-frequently. This is also why the effect was never replicated on future versions.
There are a few rides where the original has some really cool effect, such as the 5th dimension) and later versions did not use it. Like with ToT, it can be said that the DCA/DS versions did it without because it was cheaper, faster to build, and also the space issues. But TDS also opted to not have it as well.

I'll have to troll for some videos of the working chamber of destiny and the halls then.Wizzard419 wrote:Depending on when you went, the rooms might have been broken. I do love the traveling elevator car in the WDW version of ToT ~ so cool!
