You have to be a member of WDW magic to see the photos.

I can't see them either, but I saw a photo on facebook this morning ~ they put a smile and eyes in the window of Walt's plane on the backlot tour ala the Cars monorails wrap they did out in DL. Pretty understated and you probably wouldn't notice it unless you were looking for it.

meh...it is something short-lived on an "attraction" that is primarily ridden by first-timers and foreigners
So the majority of people who will see it will not know the history behind the plane going in. Besides...I don't think it's the plane that most people think it is...meaning it is not the plane Walt was in when he decided on a location to build his "Disney World."

I still doubt it will stay for a long time. I'm surprised they did it in the first place though...seems a little odd.

Haha, while this is probably true, I'm a FL resident/passholder/frequent visitor and I LOVE Catastrophe Canyon.
The decals are definitely a bit tacky looking, though...

Yesterland did an article about the authenticity of the plane. Based on interviews, it is one of the actual planes. It's not "the" plane that Walt used to decide the location of WDW. There are actually 3 planes. Here is the article

Thanks for the article Cardinals. My point was that the plane was used by Walt himself, I think they should preseve it.

They should preserve it without adding in any promotional images like they are now

Ok, I'll bite... why should it be preserved/treated as some quasi-holy relic? It is just an airplane that someone at some point in history owned. It does not have magical powers nor, as the article points out, is a significant item to the history of the company.
