The concrete work is still under way on Main Street USA. Here are some pictures that were taken the other day:

Sorta surprising they aren't using higher walls so you can't see behind them...

The low walls are pretty par for the course for stuff like that, though that looks more like they are doing paint work since there are drop cloths.

i was about to say... it is just the sidewalks being redone, as the street itself is slurry... but you can plainly see that by the pictures

The curb at emporium is now finished and the work has now moved across the street:

Since we go to WDW a lot (Florida residents), I don't see this as a problem. However, I feel really bad for the first time visitor or someone who hasn't been in a long time. The walls and construction (destruction) would be a great disappointment and might give some people the wrong impression of our beautiful Main Street! (just sayin'.....

That is why they do it in the off season (and only during the high season when it is totally critical). If they could do it all overnight, which is when they do most of the work, and have it ready in the morning they totally would.

If that's the theory then January right after the Marathon would be the best down time, not during MNSSHP, lol

The work would need to be done prior to the holiday overlay (mid November) since it has to not only be tourist ready for the holidays, but also TV ready for the Christmas day parade filming which may start as early as November. So a few guests are impacted, but it could be much worse.

Well today is the first day that the parades are affected by the concrete work. From today through the 4th, the parades will bypass the town square loop and head straight up to Main Street USA from the gate next to city hall. It seems like there is more concrete construction going on in the square besides the sidewalk replacement.

Great, I had no idea all of this was going on. Sounds like it may be continuing while we are there in 5 weeks I bet.

Does anyone have an idea of when this will be finished? We're going the first week of December, hope it will be done!
