That already happens, any ride that runs out would be an example of that. Radiator Springs Racers, for example, is routinely out of passes before noon (even on slow days).

Re: MyMagic+
I like your idea of an extra FP or two for onsite guests!theBIGyowski wrote:The only thing I can imagine is that guests who are staying on property would have more FP access than those staying offsite. I want to say that USO has something similar...where you can get more and faster access to their version of FP if you are staying in one of their resorts. Disney couldn't possible hold every guest that goes through their park gates in their resorts...they just don't have the room. Because of this, they cannot restrict or limit what off-site guests have access to, meaning you can't take things away. But, you can give on-site guests a few perks like they already do with EMH. So I would just say give on-site guests the ability to add a few extra FPs each day that won't step on their normal FPs. I would love this...knowing that I could get a FP for certain attractions like TSM without waiting in line just to get that FP.
Either that...or scrap FP altogether. Let supply/demand regulate the lines.

Re: MyMagic+
Supposedly, they are doing that for the FP+ system. Based upon the resort level you are at you can be granted more of the reserve passes.
Re: MyMagic+
I'm intrigued about the numbers involved. How many guests can WDW accommodate and how many visitors do they get to the parks a on an average basis?theBIGyowski wrote:The only thing I can imagine is that guests who are staying on property would have more FP access than those staying offsite. Well, the 2012 attendance report came out a bit over a month ago. Here are the stats for the top ten parks with the most attendance. These numbers are rough estimates since Disney nor Universal officially release their attendance figures:
1. Magic Kingdom: 17,536,000 (+2.3% change)
2. Disneyland Park: 15,963,000 (-1.1% )
3. Tokyo Disneyland: 14,847,000 (+8.5%)
4. Tokyo Disney Sea: 12,656,000 (+8.5%)
5. Disneyland Park, Disneyland Paris: 11,200,000 (+1.9%)
6. Epcot: 11,063,000 (+2.2%)
7. Disney’s Animal Kingdom: 9,998,000 (+2.2%)
8. Disney’s Hollywood Studios: 9,912,000 (+2.2%)
9. Universal Studios Japan: 9,700,000 (+14.1%)
10. Islands of Adventure: 7,981,000 (+4%)
Based on MK numbers, there's about 48,000 guests each day at the park. Epcot gets about 30,000 per day, Animal Kingdom gets about 27,000 per day, and Hollywood Studios gets about the same as Animal Kingdom.

Re: MyMagic+
On MyMagic+ news, part of Sid Cahuenga's One-of-a-Kind is set to become a service center for MyMagic+ in August 2013. Each park is being equipped with a Guest Relations staffed service center location to help guests with MyMagic+ and to have access to iPads to enable My Disney Experience access for making FASTPASS+ reservations. The Magic Kingdom location is in Town Square Theater. For Disney's Hollywood Studios, the lobby and porch area of the collectible store will be converted to the service center, with the remaining space still offering merchandise.

It will be interesting to see if Disney California Adventure makes the list next year.

Depending on what the cut-off date is for the year, it might not. I think those lists are calendar year as opposed to year to date, and if the huge expansion wasn't enough to break the top 10 then nothing will be.

Re: MyMagic+
I'm assuming those numbers are for calendar year 2012. DCA attendance from January 1 to June 14 was abysmal. However, attendance for June 15 to December 31 was awesome, even beating out Disneyland on a number of days. What I wonder is if it will break into the top 10 for calendar year 2013? It is less than Disneyland, but from what I am hearing, is not that far behind.

Re: MyMagic+
The only reason it might not be able to break into the top 10 is that it also had all the new content for the majority (if not the entire) busy season for 2012, but now they have nothing new to drive attendance for the park this year (which is fine).Club33Hopeful wrote:I'm assuming those numbers are for calendar year 2012. Re: MyMagic+
The next large test of MyMagic+ is set to begin on August 2 for pre-invited guests staying at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge Jambo House, Disney's Contemporary Resort, Disney's Pop Century Resort and Disney's Yacht Club Resort.
For the first time, the entire roster of FASTPASS+ attractions will be available for selection, and will also include parades and fireworks Friday through Sundays. Celebrate a Dream Come True Parade, Main Street Electrical Parade, Wishes, and Fantasmic! will all take part.
Like previous tests, the number of FASTPASS+ reservations will be limited to 3 per day at a single park per day.

I was hoping we'd be able to take advantage of this on our possible trip in Dec, but from what it sounds like the MyMagic bands won't be in full swing yet?! They look pretty cool!

Re: MyMagic+
Is there a map of the locations for where the reserved spots are for the fireworks? I wonder if it will be like DCA with World of Color where those without reservations can see the show but it won't be as good and they won't get the effects.
