Disney Webcams

Post by disney_fanatic » Apr Thu 20, 2006 12:55 pm

Just before one of my last trips to Disney, so about 2001, we could watch webcams of the Disney Parks at home.

The webcams were through an older version of the Official Dinsey Website - and you could see everyone in the park etc.

But now with the newer website from Disney, there no longer seems to be this option,
have the webcams been removed ?
is there a different way to see them?

I don't think that any of them are active anymore...at least not to the general public. There is one still on top of the swan/dolphin that you can view online, but I am at work and I don't have the address.

I believe the webcams are gone now, but there is a new site that Disney put up recently that is similar and quite fun:

http://www.wdwvirtualvisit.com/index.html

I hope they continue to expand it!

I love it. It feels like I'm at Walt Disney's Magic Kingdom but at home.

Yeah the webcams have been down for some time. I wonder if it was a security issue? Or they wanted to preserve the magic but not allowing after hour views of the parks.

Maybe people complained that they didn't want to be broadcasted on the internet with their consent?

Awww very disappointed that they got rid of them. It would be a good way to waste time during the day.
I know this is probably your first flight...and it's mine too...ha, ha

Rain upon that planet Earth. And they rain ... and rain ... and rain. The deluge.

Here's the native link to the Swancam:

http://www.aws.com/wxcomm/commercial/cc ... KBNV&siz=l

I can usually access the archive, etc, easier from this link.

I miss the in-park webcams from the old Disney site too. The one inside American Adventure, pointing toward Spaceship Earth, was my fav.
No one's gloomy or complaining while the flatware's entertaining.
