yeah...I assume...unless the band has your name on it...that it won't be linked to "you" until you use it the first timeLen90 wrote:Seems like the bands will be shipped with your luggage tags and vouchers from the time frame. I would just assume they will have to warn you whose band is whose. I'm guessing the guests will select their band color at the time the reservation is made or maybe before final payment.

Re: MyMagic+
Is there anything specific to an individual of a vacation party that would require the bands have individual bindings? Since everyone in the party (children and adults) already have their admission paid for, the passes wouldn't need to be tied to any specific person. If I recall, the previous room key version also did not have names printed on them.
Only thing they would probably be needed for would be the future feature of characters saying your name, which they were talking about at TED.

passes are linked to your bio-metric finger scan though...after you use the pass the first timeWizzard419 wrote:Is there anything specific to an individual of a vacation party that would require the bands have individual bindings? So while the passes aren't linked to a specific person upon purchase...when you use it the first time it is thereafter linked only to you.

Re: MyMagic+
So if you and your traveling companion's room keys got mixed up it would not let you in? I am surprised it doesn't just tie your scan to the vacation account, which would be a cleaner system.
I guess it would just be the same issue like with the present media, the owner is responsible for keeping track of it.

just like you cannot use one "key to the kingdom" card to get fastpasses for everyone in your party

All right so basically it has the exact same issue that the previous version had, they all look the same and have no identification marks on them, but this time you can plan ahead with color selection.

So no one has realised your names ARE inside each band??
That's how you know whose band is whose.

I remember seeing the prototype having names on it...but didn't know if the real ones had names on them.Soarin08 wrote:So no one has realised your names ARE inside each band??

I had some friends stay at Pop Century a few weeks ago and their room still used the old-fashioned key card...so I wasn't able to ask them about the RFID bands.

Never saw the bands when I was down there. I also wasn't sure what from the prototype images since I have only seen it on someone's wrist.Soarin08 wrote:So no one has realised your names ARE inside each band??

This may seem extremely silly, but will it be one size fits all or are there separate sizes for adults and kids.
BIG: When I was at YC in May they had the new touch locks throughout the resort. In fact I just missed them being installed last June. However, they were just using the key to the world so all that was different was not dipping your key card into your door.

So, if you have an AP, they somehow associate it with your AP during your trip, but you still have your AP?

Re: MyMagic+
It seems like you still need your RFID card with your MagicBand. The MagicBand will act as admission to the park as well as parking. The card will be used for the discounts in stores, but you can charge it to your MagicBand.Club33Hopeful wrote:So, if you have an AP, they somehow associate it with your AP during your trip, but you still have your AP?

Re: MyMagic+
It also sounds like they will be allowed to use the fast pass + option with reservations for rides.
Since it sounds like they are going to have the same bands as hotel guests, I wonder how they will be able to discriminate during the EMH stuff? Give the staff readers and make everyone who is staying wear two wristbands?

It may be programmed within the wristband. If it can tell how many days you have in the park, it may also be identified if the person is currently staying the resort.

Maybe you or somebody else knows the answer to this, we are Florida Annual Pasholders and we have the "new" RFID card from our last trip a couple months ago. We will be back again in a week, do we turn this in to get the new wristbands? Or have they not rolled it out to Annual Passholders yet.
