doe sanyone know if Dinsey plans on revamping the Great Movie Ride, i think the ride is great going through all the scenes and the guy/gurl driving the 'car' commentating and gettin involved in a Western Shooting.
but I think there needs to be a few other scenes, or sum updating.
i know the ending has more current film scenes, just wondered if there would be some major work done on the ride, beofre it becomes forgotten about and noone vsits the ride

To the best of my knowledge there aren't any current plans to "update" the ride - it's a classic and always has a huge line during popular touring times.

I agree the ride could use some updating. It is 16 years old now. The film at the end I believe has been updated, but some scenes from some more recent, yet classic films should be added.

They have updated the end by adding a few clips, but the ride itself has remained the same.

The movie clip finale at the Great Movie Ride has now been updated to include a few recent movies. New to the selection of great movie moments are Narnia, Finding Nemo, Forest Gump, Pearl Harbour, Chicago and Pirates of the Caribbean.

I think the point of the ride is to be about Classic films though, how are you implying they be updated? What other MGM/Disney classics are there to be added? I think the best way for them to keep the ride popular is to tear down that stupid hat that obstructs its view and ruins that walk down that main street (Hollywood Blvd?) as you enter. It's not as obvious to new comers that there's something there I don't think.

well defiently get ride of that Hat !!
well move it elesewhere at least, that street is crowded by it
i was thinking a revamp, as in a facelift perphaps, just to freshen it all up.
i think the ride idea is good, and the films involved also -
some different technology brought in perphaps -
then again if the changes were small, that money and effort wouldnt be noticed by many people.

This ride should ONLY be updated in the finale, the animatronics should be left alone. There is a great touch to a movie-themed park where you can get on atram and pass through Oz and Casablanca. Universal (in Florida) can't match that.

I would love to see some stuff from Tron added, and maybe even some older classics like the parent Trap and Pete's Dragon.

If you want an update (not just in the final film) -- what scene would you remove? Personally I would replace the Aliens scene with something new.

I actually was thinking of Alien being first to go. I would take out the scene from Raiders of the Lost Ark because there is already so much Indiana Jones stuff at all the parks.

I think keep it the way it is, it is a tribute to classic films. Really the only one I'd see going is Alien, while I like the space station scene the rest was terrifying when I was little with the alien and all. That is the only real sci-fi representation in the ride and could be a little more kid friendly. But the rest is really a set of timeless films.
Now what could change is the spiel! Loosen up, seriously - not all of our "tour guides" loves the horror genre. It is so predictable - give them a little room, a bit like the Jungle Cruise but w/o the bad jokes.

I like the way the attraction is now. Well the spieling part is cheesy-but so are classic movies! Just try to sound fresh when you gotta spiel the same spiel everyday for 20 something minutes.
I like the Alien part, but yeah it's not very timeless. But it's a great horror/sci-fi icon.

I know that Star Tours is already there, but how about replacing Alien with Lucke, Leia, Han, Ben and Darth Vadar in the Death Star corridors from the original Star Wars?

Becuase the Aliens series is far better then Star wars?

Leave Ripley and the Alien! Why not replace one of the lesser themed/cool movie sets (Casablanca?)
