Yeah its offically closed and off the park maps. There have been may rumors to what it will become. One being some pavillion sponsered by DuPont. Maybe it will be a tour of Delaware...

Yes. Think of what Future World had in the way of Omni's, and their fate:Esmeralda wrote:I love the old omnimover rides! Future World really needs another ride for the whole family. It needs to be something we all can ride in addition to being something exciting. Wow, that's a big order, but I know Disney is up to it!
Spaceship Earth (still plugging along)
Horizons (replaced with spinning barf-fest)
World of Motion (replaced with thrill ride)
Journey Into Imagination (transformed into a complete head-scratcher)
Living Seas' Sea Cabs (thankfully returning, albeit Pixar'd)
On a similar topic, I haven't heard much talk lately about Project Gemini, the revamp/placemaking project that was supposed to pump over $300million into Epcot. This amount did not include Mission: Space, which was already budgeted, but did include Soarin'.
No one's gloomy or complaining while the flatware's entertaining.

They did cut Figment but brought him back after the public outrage. Sadly the Dreamfinder did not have as much support and is gone. We are left with Eric Idle.disney_fanatic wrote:what has Journey into Imagination been changed to ... didn't realise they had cut Figment

But Mission: Space just seems so crappy compared to HorizonsAKLRULZ wrote: Well, let's hope it doesn't stand vacant too long, but Epcot has given us Mission Space and Soarin over the past 3 years - pretty good stuff there!

I have to be honest, I don't think I'll miss Wonders of Life too much. I did enjoy Body Wars and I loved Cranium Command (which was one of my faves in the park) I don't think it was all that memorable. I mean another generic flight simulator with a bunch of generic museum of science type exhibits scattered around with a cute little show about the brain of an adolescent boy that has been outdated for 12 years. Let's face it, I doubt many people even remember who Hanz and Franz were nor many of the SNL alums and other past comedians. The kid who was the main character is probably out of college by now with a kid of his own. And that show was the major redeeming quality of the entire pavillion, and hardly anyone knew it was there. EPCOT spent all of its money promoting Body Wars rather than Cranium Command because pre-test track Body Wars was "THE" thrill ride in the park. I think the reason many people hate to see it go is just nostalgia. Even if they never really truly liked the place it's sad to see a piece of a park die.

Glad to know I'm not alone in thinking an Omni-mover ride would be a good addition! And does Figment seem different to anyone else? Just a fuzz annoying, not quite as loveable as before? And please, enough Eric Idle, gimme Dreamfinder!

Here is an update on WOL

Not open for easter = doawdwmagic.com wrote: 24 April 2006: Wonders of Life remained closed over Easter
The Wonders of Life pavilion remained closed over the busy Easter period. This seems to suggest that the pavilion is unlikely to ever reopen, and may confirm some of the rumors that the pavilion is already being cleared.

You know what I'll miss the most and will really enjoy even more here is the area music from WOL. Some of the best, IMHO.
I'm anxious for a quick replacement - I'd love another classic Omni-style ride, but you know the GP wants thrills. I would be willing to bet Omnis are now in Yesteryear.

Its cool they play the music, I heard it when I was just there too. BTW they still have the WOL pavillion on the map, but it has no number and no description. So umm CLOSED..lol
