If you are gonna get technical on who's really a princess, I don't think Snow White or Cinderella are either. They weren't born of royalty, although I guess we are to assume they each marry the handsome prince they meet.
No one's gloomy or complaining while the flatware's entertaining.

In the original Grimm fairy tale, Snow White is indeed the daughter of royalty. Her mother, the queen dies and her father, the king, remarries and then dies, leaving Snow White at the mercy of her insanely jealous stepmother. It's very similar in plot to Cinderella.

As for Cinderella, she is the daughter of a nobleman who marries a prince, so it's safe to call her a princess, too.

My vote goes to Belle, she's French, she's a bookworm who gets all excited when someone gives her a library, and I just like her story best.
