Yeah, that is on the calendar. The ride closed boards are posted at the "security" checkpoint.

They had the, what I assume were, bomb sniffing dogs out last week (with the real police). The big problem, like with the TSA, if the threat has already arrived at the property then it is way too late and people will get hurt.

Re: Dateline Disneyland
Just a quick note, Space is still closed today and it was oddly crowded at lunch today.
Re: Dateline Disneyland
crowded in general, or just in certain areas because of closures? Seems like an odd day to attract a capacity crowd.

Re: Dateline Disneyland
Crowded in general, I was checking on my app during lunch and thought it was broken, but when I went over to ToT it was at 40 mins. Normally, it's walk on. Everything listed seemed to be at least 50% longer waits than what I would normally expect. It also felt like a lot more people walking around.
At the same time, they may have been running a lower number of cars for everything, which isn't unusual since it is the slow season.

I have heard a rumor on another site that Memorial day will see a repeat of 24 hour DLR, for the movie Monsters U. If it is true it will be done for both WDW and DLR.

Re: Dateline Disneyland
Just saw many confirmations of this on facebook. I'm wondering how packed it will be as it will be part of Memeorial Day weekend? It includes DL, DCA and MK at WDW.Wizzard419 wrote:I have heard a rumor on another site that Memorial day will see a repeat of 24 hour DLR, for the movie Monsters U. Well, it apparently was crazy busy for leap day, so yeah it's going to reach capacity again.

Normally crowded holiday plus unique event equals I am staying clear of this disaster. Good luck to the willing.

Re: Dateline Disneyland
Apparently it was jammed packed for the leap day event, so much so that the parking structure itself was also closed. I can't imagine the level of butt-hurt that is flowing with the fanboys because they used spaceship earth as a projection target (even if only for that one press event).
I am wondering, with the led jumbotron, as it is tiered, won't that mean the image will be broken unless you are seated in a specific portion of the theater and it will also have hard lines around it for the bezels?
It is weird to see, at least according to the mousewait app, that DCA has been open longer than DLR and has high volume crowds.

Apparently Space is not listed on the refurb list past tomorrow, which may mean the ride will be open again this weekend.

That'll be a nice sign to see Space reopened. I hope Disneyland learns from this mistake and does better safety regimens for their employees.

Re: Dateline Disneyland
I wonder how much it actually cost to bring the rides up to code? They have been pretty good for some of the rides, such as HM adding in the rails for the ramp into the graveyard, but it seems like some of these were repeat fines and they were not cheap. I think one of the reasons why they have been going at it ham-fisted is because they most likely were able to get a pass for older rides that were built prior to the laws (Good for small biz but a bad loophole for big biz).
