My Nikon Camera was stolen at Magic Kingdom 3/16/13

How can people do this, sure if you see a camera without its owner take it to the lost and found or at the very least city hall but to take something that is not rightfully yours is despicable.

On a seperate but not to far off theme I have been pondering on people who say that the housekeepers have taken things from their rooms and have come to the conclusion that it may be other guests.
My reasoning is that during our last trip in February the housekeeper left the door to our room open on the latch when she had finished cleaning the room one day. We had been out from early morning to around 10pm in the evening and the door was open when we returned. This was the only day that we had left the camera and video camera in the room during the whole trip, nothing was missing but I think that was just down to luck as we were in a room that hardly anyone passed by. What if we had been in a busier area would the room have been rifled through by someone and then the door closed when THEY left.
Next time I will prepare a laminated sign to put on the door stating please make sure the door is locked when you leave.

So sorry you had your camera taken Cousininmiami lets hope it turns up and you get reunited.

Sadly I think you are correct on why things go missing Sleepy90. I don't think Mousekeeping takes things, but I would venture to guess unscrupulous guests seeing an opportunity might. You were very lucky no one came in and took anything.

Wow that is extremely saddening and it does pain me being a huge photography nut. At least you did back up your pictures to your computer the night before. That is something I learned to do after having a memory card go bad on me back in 2006. I lost a good amount of my pictures and only realized it when I had gotten home.

I do think stealing a camera in WDW probably has to be among the lowest of things one can do. Hopefully it will turn up somewhere.

I think Mousekeeping knows better because if it can be proved they stole it, they are automatically terminated. So most of them don't risk it.

I just looked this up and my Nikon Coolpix P100 is not a supported camera. However there is still away possibly with the serial number on the camera. I will look this up later on at home! Again thanx for the info!

By the way, I keep meaning to remark on your ParrotHead reference. We used to "tour" as such, but time, jobs and lives got in the way...plus a split marriage - one DeadHead (me) and one ParrotHead (wife) which meant choices.

And I'm still hoping the data card, at least, shows up for you...
