The weird thing is, with the billboards in Hollywood Pictures Backlot (back then) was that they weren't timely. It was only once a year or so, eventually leading to the movie/tv show being long gone. The posters on the back of the booths are updated more frequently since they are probably standard sized. Good in concept, bad in practice.

It's not a mint julep if there is no alcohol in it, that is just sugar water with scope poured in, and it's not Mardi Gras without people offering to show you stuff for beads. :D

This week the cannon is filled with beads, but only rewards those who play ball.

So this should be interesting. How can Fantasmic return on 2/14 if the Mark Twain will be down until 3/28? I also think it looks kind of awkward to see such a massive crane from all around the park for the Big Thunder work.

Wizz, remember Disneyland is usually kept PG, so probably no need to offer anything for the beads.

What? I was talking about 401k plans, as tradition dating back to 4th century Europe, men would demand women show they were suitably planned for their retirement.

As for Fantasmic, it can run with both boats out of comission. If I recall, when MT is out they have the characters run across the island as opposed to riding the boat.

Could the characters possibly be on the Sailing Ship Columbia for Fantasmic?

No, for two reasons, the first is that they don't have as much floor space/visibility compared to the MT and the othe reason is that the columbia is all set up for the stunt portion of the show so that would be an issue.

That was my initial thought but seeing the show made me realize that is impossible for the reasons wizzard listed.

Some interesting news about the Big Thunder Mountain refurb!

http://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2 ... land-park/
Earlier this month, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad at Disneyland park closed for a major refurbishment that includes all-new track and updates to the mountain itself as well as other visual elements. One area receiving an update will be the Rainbow Ridge Mining Town. Dating back to 1956 and the Rainbow Caverns Mine Train attraction, Rainbow Ridge Mining Town is a classic feature of Frontierland.
When the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad refurbishment is complete this fall, Rainbow Ridge Mining Town will look very much the same as it always has. It is being refurbished with new materials, but many items from the original area will be reused such as props, signs and select doors, windows and shutters. Several other items are being turned over to the Disney Archives.

“The wildest ride in the wilderness” reopens fall 2013, so hold onto your hats and glasses until then!

It was never probably going to be removed in the first place, though I am sure the fanboys will be claiming a victory. :D

Just for that the cannon is loaded with paint scrapings of the old facades.

His letter was both sad and inspiring. Sad because you could tell he didn't necessarily want to retire...but decided to take the high road...and inspiring because of his invitation for the younger generation to reach out for help and mentoring. Oh, what I wouldn't give to be an Imagineer who could work alongside Tony Baxter! It's still a dream of mine to work for WDI...but assuming the climate is as rough as some say...maybe I'm happier on this side of the wall.

I do hope Tony Baxter will be named a Disney Legend soon for all he has done.

On a side note, I was told by someone who was at the resort on Sunday. Fass Pass return times will start being enforeced on Friday February 8th, 2013.

All the CM's are telling this to guests at this point. Gone are the days of extra fun.

Just an FYI
