We almost brought you one back, but there wasn't room in Mouseoholic's bag. Plus, there wasn't a listing for it on the Customs Declaration form, so....

I would too, if Mouseoholic would let me get away with it. She practically had to drag me out of there...

The pictures of the ship make me miss working at DCL... Loved it there! Guess I need to just finally take that cruise.

I think I would take up permanent residence in the spa. Jacuzzis, scented rubs, massages, heated chairs, ... yup, I wouldn't leave. It all sounds so amazing right this very minute!

Mayhem on the High Seas!!! The Mousekecouple take a cruise, Part 2 (continued).

Okay, so I’ve uploaded more pictures and can now continue this part of the report… but I must say, I’m really hating Photobucket’s “new” format and editing tools. Way harder to work with than the old site (grumble, grumble… ).

As you’ll recall, we left off with arriving at our stateroom to check it out, and we were very pleased. Here’s some shots of the room overall:

We were especially excited about having our own private veranda, and looked forward to spending a lot of time out there:
Image

Here’s the view of the Port from our veranda:

The crew had left us a couple of nice gifts (the stuff on the left), and Mouseoholic had ordered a few goodies and had them shipped to us (the bag on the right):
Image

Mouseoholic also surprised me by ordering champagne ahead of time, which was also waiting for us:
Image

Funny story about that champagne: it took us three days to finish it. We kept expecting it to go flat because we didn’t have a champagne stopper and could only wrap the foil from the neck around the top, but it still had some fizz to it by the third day! We were amazed! Also, I had been keeping it cold by putting more ice in the bucket every day… only to find out on the last day, as we were packing to leave, that we had a refrigerator in the cabinet under the desk (smacking my head   ).

We were especially pleased by the “head.” It had two completely different sections, one with a sink and the shower/bathtub (which was actually large enough to sit down in, to our pleased surprise :D ), and the other with the commode and another sink. So we had plenty of room to both get ready at the same time each morning. Nice!

Having satisfied ourselves that we were going to really enjoy our stateroom, we headed to the Enchanted Garden restaurant for lunch. This place is gorgeous:
Image

After lunch we headed upstairs to the Spa and spent some time enjoying the facilities. Great way to get the trip started! When we finished up there, we decided that since Mouseoholic would take longer to get dried off and redo her hair, I would go ahead and return to the stateroom to see if the luggage had arrived yet. If so, I would go ahead and start decorating the door. Sure enough, it was there. So I busted out all our decorations and got busy. Mouseoholic texted me that she was done and wanted to do some shopping, so I told her to go ahead and I would have all the decorating done by the time she got there. Footnote: decorating the door is a tradition started by some folks on another Disney fan site that Mouseoholic sometimes posts to (apologies to Sub… ), and not everyone does it. Most people just do a variety of simple things, but we decided to go all out (naturally…  8-) ) and did a complete Rapunzel theme, including lanterns that actually glowed (battery operated flickering candles inside). It got a lot of attention from passersby. Here’s a shot of the door “before”:
Image

And here is the finished product:

((footnote: For some crazy reason, these pics refuse to show up correctly here. I've deleted them and re-uploaded them a dozen times in an effort to rotate them. Although they show up correctly in the original file, and even in Photobucket, for some reason they keep getting turned sideways here. Can't figure out why that is the case when the other ones rotate with no problem. Very frustrating!!!!     ))

You’ll notice also the little “pouch” thingy hanging next to the door. These are called “fish extenders.” It’s another idea started by the other website. It gets its name because there are little decorative clips that look like fish next to each stateroom door for the purpose of leaving notes and such, and people got the idea of adding these pouches (i.e. fish “extenders”) so that little gifts and things could also be left. Again, not everyone participates in this activity, but those who intend to participate will post their information on the website, and everyone makes note of their stateroom numbers and makes the rounds to leave each other gifts. It’s organized so that not everyone does it on the same day, thus ensuring that little goodies will appear at your door each day of the trip. It’s more fun that way. :D

Mouseoholic arrived back at the room just as I was finishing up and gave her nod of approval to everything. Having now finished unpacking and decorating, it was time to head to “muster” for the mandatory pre-sail safety briefing. Our muster point was in the Walt Disney Theater:
Image

Safety briefing over, we were now free to head up top and stake out a spot for the sail-away party. Almost time to push off! I’ll have to upload more pics later to continue the story from here, so stay tuned!

Cool ~ your stateroom has a lot more room than I would expect. And the bathroom looks downright roomy!
I've seen a few posts about the decorating of doors and extenders on cruises. Looks like fun :D I love that you had lanterns that glowed ~ definitely a special touch!
I have to agree with you on photobucket. They took what was once a fairly user friendly site and screwed it up with their last update
The Enchanted Garden restaurant looks lovely ~ how was the food?

The food was fabulous! I was amazed at the quality and variety, considering that it was a buffet! We also discovered something new that we've never had before: creamed asparagus soup with crab meat... oh my goodness, it was delicious!

Are Dole Whips sold at Disneyland?

Please say yes... but not if it's a lie.
