You should see me at work avoiding every odd situation just so I don't twist a knee or sprain an ankle. Lol

20 is in the books! We will do 14 this weekend and 22 next (Yes Christmas weekend!) then taper...
My pace was meh, but I did it!
Thats what I want from the actual race...just to finish...
How is everyone doing?
You should take your camera along on the really long race on Christmas weekend. You wouldn't want that extra weight to throw you off on race day ~ and you know we will be expecting photos right?!

I stood outside my house on the sidewalk and cheered the cars going by last weekend for few hours. This weekend I'll taper it to an hour or so and that should have me prepared for the Marathon in a month!

Just under a month to go... Man, I'm not ready yet!
Good news is, most of the trip is booked. Still trying to book the last night so I can be there for the crazy people running 26.2!

This Disney marathon I always read about sounds like its fun. I might have to check it out sometime.

Ok everyone. How is the training going? Me and Mrs. WWDRH have been gangbusters on these long runs. We aren't fast but we sure do give it heck!!
Last week was a cutback week and we did 'only' 14. This weekend is our longest run other than the race itself: 22 miles. Ugh!!
After that its taper city
We are excited and nervous all at the same time...
I read somewhere that runners talk about running all the time...except when they are running. Lol
So true!
What's our head count? Sound off if you are running for sure...
I got my corral assignment---E. back with all of us slowpokes.

I am all set. Arrive 1/11 and depart 1/14. Staying at the CBR. Just checked my corral placement and will be in D, but I am thinking seriously about jumping in behind one of the pace runners and I don't know how they determine which corral they will start in. I am torn between the 4:15:00 and the 4:30:00. Probably will not decide until I get to the expo and talk to the runners.
I will have to admit that my long runs have not been in the 20-22 mile range, so I might be in for a rude awakening once I get to the 18-20 mile point.
Am looking to do my last long run on Sunday 12/30 which is about a week closer to the race than most people recommend, but since I am not doing any 22 mile long runs I keep telling myself that I should be OK. We'll see.
Hopefully we can get a chance meet up sometime before the race.

I hope to see you out there...I think I remember what you look like from last year's meetup.
If not...good luck to you!

Ok 22 miles are in the books!
I'll admit that my pace was not great and those last few were not pleasant, but I finished! And that's my goal in three weeks...just finish.
I am hoping that the flatness of WDW will help with pace but regardless, me and Mrs. WWDRH are ready to run...now it's time to taper. Those words sound so sweet! ONLY 12 next week.

Will you have time, and take the time, to take pictures with some of the characters along the way?

Not sure, Amy..
It might come down to: do I really want to carry a camera or phone for that long. I'm usually pretty focused on the task at hand, but it's Disney after all!
We'll see.

Alright...I gotta know...What kind of pace are you averaging on a 20-22 mile run? I am trying to keep a pretty consistant 9:30 to 9:40 pace, but that is for runs in the 12-14 mile range. On shorter 8-10 mile runs I try to average an 8:50 to 9:00 pace. By the time I get to the 20+ mile point the walkers might be passing me.

Do you have a small point and shoot you can take? That would be the only draw of "running" a race at WDW for me. Seeing some of the backstage areas and taking pictures with Disney characters would
almost entice me...almost
