Those are quite good. And Guinness is actually a low calorie beer.Belle1082 wrote:I am looking forward to a good ol' Snakebite from the Rose and Crown. Half Guinness/Half Cider and ALL delicious!

All I can say is I've never had beer but one of my friends that I live with said she isn't a big beer drinker but will drink the ones at Rose and Crown... care to vouch for her so I can decide if I will ever try that or not?
Maybe my overwhelming English heritage will help me be able to drink it and like it.

If you like coffee, you would probably like Guinness. It is a really dark beer and to me, tastes like coffee ~ ick!Soarin08 wrote:All I can say is I've never had beer but one of my friends that I live with said she isn't a big beer drinker but will drink the ones at Rose and Crown... care to vouch for her so I can decide if I will ever try that or not?Maybe my overwhelming English heritage will help me be able to drink it and like it.

Hah, that's the exact same thing I thought the first time I tried it at a Dropkick Murpheys Concert up here in Boston a few years back.Amy wrote:If you like coffee, you would probably like Guinness. Hmm. I'll have to give it a go. I can do coffee just fine. It's not my favourite but I will drink it.Amy wrote:If you like coffee, you would probably like Guinness. Guinness is not a beer it is a stout, it should have a rich velvety smooth taste and a stunning white head on that black body, if its creamy the bartender has done it wrong. I wouldn't say it tastes like coffee but it has been a long time since I had any, maybe its time for a trip to the Rose and Crown in two weeks.Soarin08 wrote:Hmm. I'll have to give it a go. Take that trip to the Rose and Crown in my honour, I won't be going over there for a long while.Sleepy90 wrote: Guinness is not a beer it is a stout, it should have a rich velvety smooth taste and a stunning white head on that black body, if its creamy the bartender has done it wrong. My vote is for the Oktoberfest brew in Germany. Maybe it was just the great company, but it was one of the best beers I have ever had.

Yeah, Altenmunster and I haven't been able to find it anywhere else. I thought maybe Total Wine would sell it but no luck.
