The shaky window on the Haunted Mansion as you're going down backwards into the graveyard.

When you go under a bridge, there is a Pirate sitting on the edge, one foot dangling down over you. You can look up at that foot as you go under, and see the dirt on the foot, and the hairs in his leg.
That's one of my favorites too (at the WDW version)! I always look up for that leg -- the detail is amazing.

I'm not sure it's a detail as much as it is Disney's ATTENTION to detail, but I've always thought that Exposition Hall on Main Street at WDW's Magic Kingdom is neat. Why, you ask?

All the buildings on Main Street, USA are built using forced perspective, meaning the scale gets smaller as the buildings get taller. Exposition Hall is the only building on Main Street built to full scale. The reason? If it were built using the same scale as the other buildings, the Contemporary Resort could be seen from Town Square, ruining the theming of turn-of-the-century Main Street.

Attention to detail--nobody does it like Disney.
"Our heritage and ideals, our code and standards--the things we live by and teach our children--are preserved or diminished by how freely we exchange ideas and feelings." -- Walter Elias Disney

I like that. The fact that someone thought of that before they built it and not as an after thought. That is a good one, and to think I never even noticed that it was full scale. I just took it for granted that it was forced per., you learn something everyday.

AHHHHHHHH My Favorite detail is a tombstone at the Haunted Mansion in WDW. There is one in particular I'm talking about. It's right near the doors to the building, on the left. It has a woman's face on it with her eyes closed, and every so often she will MOVE, she'll open her eyes, and look around... her face moves a bit too. I've been going to Disney for like 26 years, and the 1st time I've noticed her move was in '04 with my hubby. I thought it was a cool touch.... so many people are reading the other tombstones... but how many of us noticed this one?

:)

I Also LOVE how the people working particular attractions FIT the attraction... like @ the haunted mansion, the CMs look like creepy maids and butlers.
"Hey, Look at that guy in the Goofy Mask!" "That's not a mask!" "Oh... Sorry Lady!"

I like all the background music all over every park that really sets the mood for each land, country, ride and show.

The annoucement in Tomorrowland...Paging Mr. Morrow...Mr. Tom Morrow!

I like how they've made the ToT Hotel look like it's been abandoned since the 1930's.

Talking water fountains and garbage cans.

Pulling the rope on the well outside of Indiana Jones Show at MGM.

They way you can hear the Ewoks up in their tree house outside Star Tours.

The Singing in the Rain umbrella in MGM.

My entire family loves to look for Hidden Mickeys.

The Hidden Donald in the HM.

I loved when Goofy called me on my birthday when we were staying at AKL.Also how nice so many of the CM were to me on my birthday....yes I'm just a big kid!!! :P

I also LOVED the Living Satues in Epcot but they're no longer there! :x

There are SO MANY more I just can't think right now!

I found a recording of the Goofy Birthday Wake Up Call to complement the 2 Mickey wake up calls that we already have on the site.

The smell of Oranges in the Desert scene in Horizons was always one of my favorites.

Outside Star Tours in MGM the detail of the AT-AT is incredible. The footprint it leaves as it "Walking away from the ewok base; I always have to get a picture under the foot. Also every few minutes when the walker shoots you can see the cannons backfire, now that's attention to Detail.

The Star Tunnel in SM is also amazing. So many people walk right through it while waiting on line to ride that they don't even take notice of the music or look at the holograms.

There's so many things, I could go on and on.
Please keep your arms and legs inside the vehicle until the ride comes to a full and complete stop. Thank you, and enjoy the rest of your day here at Walt Disney World.

I love the music at the end of the Christmas fireworks at DL. I was listening to it here the other day and just stopped everything and listened. It was like going back again :)

One of my favorite details is the fireplace at the Wilderness Lodge, how it represents all the layers of the Grand Canyon. (Plus, there's a Hidden Mickey, too!)

Speaking of HMs, I love that the designers put the HMs in so many places within WDW (and Disneyland).

Gosh there are so many great details.
1) all the door knobs in the haunted mansion
2) the smell of pirates
3) the train spike in the walkway of the castle at Dland
4) since the 50th makeover I go crazy over the glitter paint on the castle
this is just to name a few I am sure I will thin of more.

For me it is a simple effect but it is cool to me. Its in the Haunted Mansion and when you pass the singin busts there is a ghost in a mosulim (looks like it is painted on a sheet and has a fan blowing on it) that moves so you think it is hovering in the grave yard. so simple but cool
