MK Beer and Wine?

It's always struck me as fun. I can sit in the MK taking a drink out of a water bottle, then take a drink out of a Coke and nobody ever ask about it.

I could never do this. Put rum straight up in my mouth? I would sputter, gag, and possibly throw up.

I know this, because once, when I couldn't sleep and Ambien hadn't been "invented" yet, I couldn't sleep and decided to slam a shot of rum. I sputtered, gagged, and convinced myself for 15 minutes to not throw up.

I think that would DEFINITELY draw attention to me.

That and you might be drinking the cheap stuff, if you can't drink it straight then it's usually also sold in a bottle with a handle.

There are some very fine liquors sold in handled bottles. It's just that the price is usually prohibiting. According to my oldest brother, who is a wine connoisseur, wine keeps much better when in a plastic lined box. It's just that no self respecting wine connoisseur would buy it packaged like that.

Like what? When I usually buy the 1.5 L stuff (GG) they just make them larger versions of their existing bottles to avoid the stigma of being like Smirnoff.

Excuse moi, it was Bacardi dark rum. *not* the cheap stuff.

I just don't happen to drink hard liquor, unlike SOME people.

I'd say start with Appleton estate and work your way up.

It wasn't EXPENSIVE but it wasn't CHEAP. And it really doesn't matter. Over a certain %age of alcohol I'm not going to like the taste.

When I think of sipping, I think of Glenmorangie, Tormore, or others like CRAGGANMORE. Although I am a RUM drinker, if you're gonna drink it straight, there is nothing like a fine single malt and a good cigar. ;+>
