He'd probably have more of a problem with how companies have eased off on sponsoring stuff since they found less expensive and more effective means of doing it... that and women wearing pants.

If they still had some of the stuff from Space Mountain, they could do the last scene on Mars.

If they do eventually update the final scene I just hope it doesn't include an animatronic Steve Jobs introducing the latest IPhone...just saying

Wow... on the upcoming anniversary of his death no less...
I'd say they could start a kickstarter to get the fanboys and girls to fund upgrades but the practice has been banned.

No, the new rule (I've told people for ages not to use them as a funding source) is that you basically need a full functioning prototype or a model that functions at the present state of completion on your project. So you can't use concept renderings and promises of what it will be and then not deliver. I think they (kickstarter) is trying to avoid tax implications since they are going at it as a funding system rather than a store.

It was a joke... sort of, considering that back then a woman wearing pants instead of a dress in a courtroom was grounds for contempt and jail time (it really did happen).

Re: Carousel of Progress in need of TLC!
FYI...you cannot update the last scene of CoP without redoing the entire attraction. Jean Shepherd, voice of Father, passed away in 1999. So, a complete overhaul would have to be done in order to update the final scene. Rex Allen, the original voice of Father as well as Grandfather in the current version also passed away in 1999.
A complete overhaul would be in order if you wanted to respect Walt's original vision of the attraction. Simply updating the last scene, even if you re-record audio for Father in the other scenes, would be a slap in the face to the Imagineers who built the original as well as a slap in the face to the current Imagineers saying they aren't *** good enough to overhaul the whole thing.
*** Yes...I know at times it seems like they lack creativity (see Tomorrowland in WDW and DLR) and execution (see the Expedition Everest Yeti)...but that is an argument for another day.
