Re: 2013 WDW Marathon
It is now official. I just registered for my first full marathon ever and I couldn't think of a better place than WDW to do it.
I hope to see some of you guys there.

Thanks Amy. Once it is over we will see if congratulations or paramedics are in order.Amy wrote:Congratulations!cccmouse wrote:It is now official. I just registered for my first full marathon ever and I couldn't think of a better place than WDW to do it.

Some sub-ers have done the half, and the full! You'll definitely get congratulations here, and at the end of the race, and if you need paramedics, well those will be available, too. But hopefully not!cccmouse wrote:Thanks Amy. Once it is over we will see if congratulations or paramedics are in order.Amy wrote:Congratulations!cccmouse wrote:It is now official. Me, I don't run. As in, if you see me running, you should, too, because something big, scary, and dangerous is chasing me.

Couldn't resist the 20year medal then. Good luck cccmouse we all know you can do it.cccmouse wrote:It is now official. I just registered for my first full marathon ever and I couldn't think of a better place than WDW to do it.

I do have to admit that the 20 year medal does look pretty cool, but I just figured that I'm not getting any younger and if I want to scratch that off of my "to do" list I'd better do it now.Sleepy90 wrote:Couldn't resist the 20year medal then. Re: 2013 WDW Marathon
Best of luck to all running WDW races. I'm running TOT ten miler in just 3 weeks. I'm so excited that the race is back. Ran all three TOT 13K's. They were so much fun. January 2013 will be my first Goofy and I'm so excited I can hardly think about little else. I've run four marathons before but have always rested for two days before a marathon. Running a half the previous morning will surely take me places physically and mentally that I haven't been to before. Rock N' Roll Montreal half marathon on September 23rd will be my 10th half for this year. Building a large training base for my run at Goofy. My biggest unknown right now is what kind of weather to expect in January in WDW. My previous marathons have been run in everything from ideal 50 degrees, clear and cool to horrendous rain. Believe me it really effects your performance and experience.

I'll be down there watching. Unfortunately it'll be too early in the morning for me to have a beverage in hand, but I'll be watching.

Best of luck to you in the Goofy and in your continued training. I hope you stay safe, well and injury free.bravetaylor wrote:Best of luck to all running WDW races. Unfortunately not in Orlando. They won't be selling anything that early. May have to sneak something in the coffee.

Re: 2013 WDW Marathon
Awesome to see another one of us signing up. Good luck and I'll be right there with you. I also think the 20th anniversary medal looks awesome. Part of me wanted to be stupid and try the goofy, but I also am doing the marathon. I've done a number of halves. Disney will be my third full, but I don't think there's anyway I could do a goofy.cccmouse wrote:It is now official. I hope to see some of you guys there.
Please keep your arms and legs inside the vehicle until the ride comes to a full and complete stop. Thank you, and enjoy the rest of your day here at Walt Disney World.

Re: 2013 WDW Marathon
I think we could definitely plan some sort of meet-up like last year. I know WWDRH is running the Half again and I am planning on doing the 5K. We can probably get something together. It will probably have to be someone else though as I'm not good at that kind of stuff. haha...
