Dry heat, wet heat, it's all HOT. I'm with Amy. This northern gal can't handle high heat and humidity. I need to move back to the mitten.

But if it meant a free DP for the hubs, daughters, and me, I might be able to stand it, especially if we just hung at the pool or Disney Quest for the afternoon. :)

Nope, you don't want to move back here. Our weather has become almost as unbearable as Florida summers. And that was in March this year

Yeah Indy was pretty crazy this spring. At least it's cooler the remainder of the week. I'd LOVE to move up to the g** area, where a high school friend lives with her family. That would be PERFECT.

wish they had free dining in august like they did last year.my husband is a teacher and my daughter is still in elem. school so to take advantage of free dining in the fall doesn't work for us.I do have a question though, does the free dining plan change to different seasons or times of the year every year? or is it just when they feel like offering it?

Not sure if there is a distinct pattern. I'm guessing they offer it when they know it will be a bit slower in order to fill more rooms.

You need to get your husband's district on the "balanced" schedule like they're doing around here. School starts around Aug 1, then there's 2 weeks off in the fall and spring, and 2 or 3 weeks off at Christmas, and maybe even a full week at Thanksgiving. They'll get out about the second week of June, have 6-7 weeks of summer, and start over again. Statistically, it's better for students, and as a former teacher, I would have to think it would help break up the year a little better so it's not so much like running a marathon. Our district will adopt it starting with 2013-2014 school year, but this upcoming year there's a week-long fall break that we're using for our WDW trip. Hubby and I can now take time whenever, but as you know, it's harder as the kids get older to take them out of school for any more than a couple days.

Take a look at your Christmas break dates - the week right after New Year's Day is historically one of the slowest at WDW, and if you're still off school, you could travel on 1/1, and probably get a very good rate for the week. Sometimes getting a good % discount on the room, then buying the dining plan, is a better deal.

Oh yes, we've been getting a lot of calls for guests wanting to be cheap and use the free dining at V&A's... doesn't work that way, people. Platinum Plan or you pay out of pocket!

My husband would love to do this in our district, kids forget so much over the summer!! Yes, that would also fit in nicely with wdw plans!! :D
