Yeah. I'm not really sure what happened to them. It was definitely one of the neater things to see at the World Showcase.

Norway for total atmosphere, food, wait staff, and a great place to have a beer, while the kids ride Maelstrom countless times during Illuminations....

Speaking of World Showcase of the past - does anyone remember the Junkaroo band and their bus? Has to have been ages ago now - anyone know more about them, when they last played, etc?

Germany, for the Biergarten! Norway's a close second, though. I loved going on Maelstrom with my family.

G2-4T, I don't remember the band, but aparently it's called the Junkanoo bus (http://pages.prodigy.net/stevesoares/Junkanoo.htm) and one of the performers is now in a band called Mystik NRG in the Orlando area (http://home.mindspring.com/~tlanze/welc ... m/id1.html).

Anyone remember the double decker buses that used to transport guests around World Showcase in the early years? After those were discontinued (someone here probably knows when... but not me), one of the buses was redecorated and became the Junkanoo. A few years ago, that same bus was revamped again and became a character meeting experience.

Please share if you know more of the story... That's all I can remember.

So thats were they got that bus from. I always thought they just came up with the bus just for the Characters. See you learn something new everyday on this thing.

Glad to share what little knowledge I have! The gray cells just don't work like they used to...

I remember the double decker bus from our earliest visit to Epcot in 1990; I think it was discontinued because there was too much pedestrian traffic around the WS to make it practical. The Junkaroo bus showed up not long after, probably in the early 90s.

As for favorite WS country, here are the highlights for us:

France: boulangerie, restaurants, shops, movie, landscaping and general ambience

UK: fish & chips, IllumiNations at the Rose & Crown, the Beatles, the maze and the shops

Canada: landscaping and Off Kilter!! (anyone know if they're still there?)

Germany: Biergarten and the model railroad

Japan: Mitsukoshi, landscaping, drums and food

Norway: Maelstrom, bakery and stave church

Canada for beavertails
France for beautiful movie
America for American Adventure
Norway for Maelstrom
Italy for Alfredo's
Germany for Christmas ornaments
United Kingdom for Fish and Chips
I agree there are so many cool ones! But I think I might go with Italy because I'm Italian and I just love that place and they have that whistle guy out ther who does some pretty cool and funny tricks! It's just a sweet country! :D

I like Norway and Mexico personally. Mexico's got the great atmosphere and relaxing and nostalgic Rio Del Tiempo and Norway has the buffet where I can "eat like a viking" all day on that tasty brown goat cheese and fish and those great meatballs etc. plus Maelstrom. I also love China's circlevision movie a lot.

Otherwise, It's a TOUCH choice. I love them all, since they all have something diffrerent to offer.

I enjoy Norway, Japan and Canada. I like the pavillions that have a lot more depth in them. i guess you can say, all of them have depth but those 3 stand out the most to me.
