New Ideas
I'm curious, does anyone ever think about ideas for new attractions? What are some of people's ideas? I thought about building a luau beach where people could go for a real luau dinner theatre.

Yea.. They do.. I have seen it 3 times.. Twice as a child and once on my honeymoon in 2001.
It's pretty fun. Lots of cool fire dancing and such. Not the best food in Disney but worth it.
And your kids will love it. It is at the Polynesian

missing the point
The point is not do you like my idea...I'm just curious what other people would like to see. The thing at the Polynesian is just a show, and a dinner. Its not a beach, where you share in the cooking of the pig. If you go to Hawaii, there is so much more pagentry that goes into it.
I'm just curious as to what other people want to see? Its always fun to talk about what could be improved, added, removed.

I always thought it would be cool if they did a Little Mermaid "Under the Sea"-type attraction in the spot where 20,000 Leagues used to be. It could be underwater, like 20K was, with guests experiencing various Ariel-related adventures: a dangerous shark, the sea witch and an underwater concert by Sebastian at the end -- some of of the elements of the old ride updated for a new storyline.
Does anyone know if something like this was ever considered by Disney for that space? Or is it too similar to Voyage of the Little Mermaid?

The Mermaid thing sounds really cool
I love your idea about the little Mermaid, but its a tad out of date. If you wanted to do something along the lines of an underwater ride...Why not something like Finding Nemo? Its a little more current. And its already integrated a little bit at "the Living Seas" in Epcot. So you could build a ride there that would be under the sea type, but at the same time would be related.
Although, there is something to be said for the classics.

Unfortunately, we're all too late with suggestions for the 20K lagoon, because that area is now a Pooh themed playground. Winnie the Pooh has been quite the real estate mogul in recent years, renovating Toad Hall and throwing Mr. Toad out on his kiester, and then filling in Captain Nemo's watery domain to expand the hundred acre wood.
I would have LOVED to see another sub-based attraction in the lagoon, similar to the Nemo attraction being installed at Disneyland. However, the most exciting idea for that area must have been Villains Mountain (or whatever other name was developed along the same theme). Search the threads for more info.
I'd love to see more pavillions added to World Showcase. There's plenty of room for additions back there, and more attractions would be good for Epcot's take at the gate.
Mickey's Toontown Fair really needs some work, as those tents that were erected for Mickey's Birthdayland in 1988 are starting to show major wear. Maybe a Car-toon Spin style dark-ride featuring the Fab Five would be a great addition back there.
Though it's a little off topic, I'd also love to see an Asian themed resort as was originally planned for construction near the Magic Kingdom.
Ahhhh... so many dreams... so little budget...

Yeah, especially since they've sold off a lot of the props and ride vehicles on ebay already.Cheshire Cat wrote:If there's enough room in the UK pacillion at Epcot, Disney should try moving Mr. Toad's Wild Ride there. (Probably more building from the ground up than simply moving it by now though...)

A Villains-themed land would be cool, but highly improbable. It could have some kind of ride themed to Bald Mountain (the area's landmark). And then I've always envisioned a "Spider" themed to Hercules' Hydra (the seats being the Hydra's Heads) Disney needs somemore nauseating rides other than the teacups
...and that's as far as my imagination stretches

Yeah they got rid of Mr Toad for Pooh!! What's wrong with them?!!kgmadorin wrote:Unfortunately, we're all too late with suggestions for the 20K lagoon, because that area is now a Pooh themed playground.
