It happens, believe me... I haven't heard of it yet here at Victoria & Albert's but I DID see it at Saratoga. I had it happen to me personally and of course we are NEVER allowed to accept money unless we're in a tipped role.

I Know a lot of fast food chains and some retail stores have secret shoppers. Does Disney do the same to see if policy is being upheld? :o :goofy:

So there are roles where tipping is allowed then? More than just wait staff and hotel room staff?

Servers, housekeeping, bell hops, valets... if your statused role says "tipped" in the official organizational title, you may accept tips. If it says "non-tipped" (mine is) then you cannot.

Aha. Still on a personal basis though as far as accepting tips if they are allowed? F1gment has tipped bell hops successfully, I have not. Although they will accept bottles of pop and snacks from the food court I have found.

Note to self, if workers start falling ill on the job, investigate tampered foodstuff from Amy...

In 2006, we took our daughters then 17 and 11 to FL. At that time, both were attending a christian school, so we had to plan our travels around the school calendar. We decided to go to WDW over their Thanksgiving break. We always have driven to WDW (MD's eastern shore to FL) partially because we never had money to fly, partially because I HATE flying, and partially because our family travels with so much stuff that I don't see how we could ever take a plane. He are the ultimately prepared people...we take EVERYTHING that even occurs to us that we MIGHT need. So we packed for a trip that we knew might have some cooler weather (temps in the 60's or 70's, lets say) and for weather that could be considerably warmer than that.

What we weren't expecting was temps in the 30s and 40s!!!!! But that is exactly what we got. On Nov 21, 2006, snowflakes, mixed with rain, fell in Orange, Lake, Seminole and Volusia counties. The last time Central Florida had gotten snow was 2003. So while we were prepared for cool weather, we were NOT prepared for COLD weather. It was pretty neat though: WDW already had their Christmas decorations up and it actually felt like Christmas...in FL!

Wow, now that is some serious Disney magic there.... snow (albeit mixed with rain) and Christmas decorations at Disney. That sounds wonderful ( though cold, haha)

I am not allowed to accept tips myself due to the nature of my role. I could get fired if I did and my leaders found out.
