The Grand Floridian makes me think of an episode of Full House where they stayed there, Uncle Jesse playing the piano, oh the memories...

Can I "snap" and come with you for that? I am the only person in my party that goes to Disney every year that wants to go to the Sci-Fi. so I only get to go once every few years..
Okay my husband and I were talking tonight about the atmosphere at Sci-Fi. I think it just takes you away to some other universe. It's just something about that restaurant. I want to say it's like a quiet atmosphere but really it's not. Kind of hard to describe I guess but I could "snap" and be there anytime! We listened to the loop tonight and had images of the Sci-Fi Dine-In rotating through Flickr on our computer....very nice addition to the loop!

Of course, the more the merrier! I always go to the Sci-Fi, especially since it's so much better than any actual drive-in I was ever at. Ugh, pizza slices that tasted like the pizza box with ketchup and some form of mystery cheese, very scary looking hot dogs, and always, always, speakers that hissed and crackled. I'll take a Disney version any time! :D

Wait, we can Snap and go back in time?! Alright! 8-) Ok, SNAP, I'm back with my Grandmother, a few aunts and uncles and a bunch of cousins in 1967 when the "New" Tomorrowland opened at Disneyland and we got Carousel of Progress, Adventure Through Inner Space, PeopleMover, and America the Beautiful in Circlevision 360 - it was absolutely awesome, we all loved it. I've enjoyed many new attractions and Parks since, but none ever made the impression that did. I'm sure age was a factor but a great memory I'd love to Snap back to.

Oh yes, I allow all to join me, and sorry for the DL Snap on the WDW thread, but that time travel aspect just inspired me.

Oh no problem hey when you get a memory like that i would go with it too. I've always wondered how our trip with our kids would be if we had extended family with us.

I think we were very fortunate at the time we were doing trips like I described; there was just the one Park, the aunts and uncles were in their 30's and very energetic, cousins ranged from 5-12 yrs old, and the crowds weren't nearly the size we see at the U.S. parks today. I mention all those factors because I feel they added up to such good trips for us. Everyone, regardless of age, wanted to see the same things, and my Grandmother was always available to sit with whatever child felt intimidated by a ride. Now, there are just so many choices, I always see families splitting up and arranging to meet up again later. Nothing wrong with that, just different, more complex times. I think an extended family would still have a wonderful time, sure great photos, laughs, and memories.
