Rode it twice today. Severely disappointed. Effects are still not working or missing. Looks like the thing that got the most work was the queue.

Weirdness is compatible with ours,

Mutual weirdness and call it Love.”

Any chance that everything isn't turned on quite yet?

Most of the effects looked the same as it did before they closed it (fake bats are still look extremely fake [hell, one wasn't even moving], baby possums were missing but the moving rocks look like they are still there as a just in case). Not holding my breath.

That's too bad. It seemed like it was closed down for long enough to make some of the show elements look better and actually move again!

Exactly. Most were thinking the effects were what were going to get the most work for this 4 month refurb. Instead we got the same ride with broken/missing effects and a new queue.

What's your opinion on the queue, MadEye? In all honesty, that was my biggest concern. That thing in the summer was always a pain in the you-know-what!!

It looks like there are air conditioning ducts in the queue but if that's what they were, they weren't turned on. You can tell they turned it up once you get to the ramp portion of the queue. A littler after halfway down to the load area, you can tell the difference. As far as the configuration for the standby line, it is different. Very different. The railings are further apart than they were. They switched the entrance of standby and fastpass, too.

Tried to get on this tonight but apparently it was shut down several times today. I wonder if they are having troubles with some of the new effects??? I will try again tomorrow.

:( That isn't a good sign when something is closed a lot right after a refurb is it?? Or was it simply that the weather was bad??

There aren't any new effects...

I agree whole heartedly with MadEye... I was severely disappointed with BTMRR today. Nothing on the ride has changed except for new paint and the burlap sacks are gone. No falling rocks, no new effects, same bumpy jerky ride. The queue is wider and has some new wood but that is about it. No AC until you are in the loading area. VERY disappointed....

Well, what they did to the queue didn't happen over night. But I do agree, it didn't need to be closed for so long to do what they did.

hey it takes time for paint to dry.... and they <del>re-'sleepered</del>' the tracks...

edit: i am awfully sleepy ATM, they replaced all the ties, effectively 'reBALLASTING' the track. (yes i know the track is not supported by the ties... but was trying to get the proper train nomenclature in

How disappointing to hear that! BTMRR is my beloved Mouseoholic's all-time favorite ride... the very first and last thing she simply must do on every trip!! She will be sooooooo disappointed to hear that the whole thing was just a flash in the pan... no real substance to the refurb.
Well, I guess we can console ourselves with the hope that maybe the "soft opening" that y'all experienced wasn't the end of the story... maybe there's more coming. We'll see when we get there at the end of August.
